so my girlfriend has a 04 ion. stupid left her lights on today and drained the bat. so i went and jumped it and all the sudden the power steering went out? i read that the pumps are electric? im stumped so any help would be great. thanks :thumbsup:

i used to work at saturn...
all the techs used to beat them with a hammer try that :thumbsup:

owned a saturn. as matter of fact owned brents old saturn. barely had problems with it. but as far as the power steering going out. deffinitely new to me.

well if the pump is electric it has a fuse, so check your fuses.

Customer Concern: Power steering inoperative. The power steering lamp is on at the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Problem since a jump start. Found blown EPS 1 and EPS 2 fuses. New fuses, now OK.



Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) for trouble codes.

2. Check the Body Control Module (BCM) for trouble codes.

3. Check for blown Maxi fuses in the Underhood Bussed Electrical Center (UBEC) per bulletin #05-02-32-002C. Check the EPS 1 and EPS 2 fuses.

4. Replace the fuses, road test.

i fixed it yesterday. it was the 2 fuses
