my bad about the hard top-ness.

a 2.2 is certainly good for an open diff and crappy tires, i know some people that would kill for that 60' (ahem brett would have at least run a 14 with that 60'). everytime i have EVER gotten a tenth to 60', i have gotten exactly 2 more at the end of the track, thats not a bad rule of thumb to go by. if you can get that 60' down to even a 1.8 i would bet your car would run a 13.3. i put cut outs on my car and picked up 2mph, so those should get you SOMEthing. wanna come out tonight to race Noah? i know he wants to run brett (he actually said that lol) and im sure he would run you from a dig, if not ill call him a bunch of names

i think we are going to try to head out to niles, not sure if noah or you guys will go out that way but whatever.

If you are going to actually run a stock T5 in that car (or any really for that matter), you NEED to run a crossmember or body mounted torque arm and not one that's attached to the case. They are extemely common to flex the case (especially in 3rd) and blow apart.

I think I helped a friend change like 4-5 t-5's over a summer or so before he got fedup and put a t-10 4spd in it with a chassis mounted tq arm. Now its a TKO 600, but that's obviously a very $$ way to fly on a budget.

Just some food for thought....
It whistles while it WORKS.

Ok i'll look into it. I would like to find a WC T5 so it has some strength but IDK they are kinda hard to kind for f-bodys. I wouldn't minda TKO 600 or TKO 500. That is the way to go but they cost about $1400 i think.

I broke in the 13's last night. I finally put in a "real" shift kit and it goes into 3rd now. :D Im happy for the rest of the season now that my cars pretty well tuned in. I broke my time in bracket by .02 of a second. DAMN!!! O well im just happy to be in the 13's. My car doesnt even launch in its powerband it only preloads to like 1100rpm so Im goin to get a 2400 stall and some radials and i bet it will be around 13.4ish give or take 2 tenths.

hmm so once again you hooked better and your 60' went down, your et went down, and your mph went DOWN. hmmm remember this convo???

your shits still slow for that much engine work. the 2.1 is totally decent for street tires though, although the automatic and lack of a stall actually help that.

im planning on being at the track friday if you want embarrased by a ford with a smaller engine.

Ummm yeah. IF U SPIN FOR THE FIRST 4 SECONDS YEAH UR TRAP SPEED IS GOING TO BE SLOWER U FUCKING RETARD.. Would u like me to post my E/T and MPH when i spun for the first 4 seconds?? It was like a high 15 or low 16 at like 88. It SMOKED first and second gear ill find the slip if u want me to.( remember it had a open 3.42 rear in it with a dry rotted 205/60/15 rear tire) Yeah sure if u spin a real little ur trap speed can be higher. But not when ur FRYING tires through the 60'...... Y u being such a dick man??? :| I want to get a 2500ish stall with some Drag radials which should help my 60 even more, I dont expect street tires to hook with that though but i should bring my E/T down a little. And y does everone think i half like 10k in my car. I have a truck motor with pretty much stock set of cast vortec heads heads and a mild cam and roller rockers. thats pretty much it. o yeah and a STAGE 1 intake with a holley 670cfm. Come on a 13.9 isnt that bad. i just put a Shift kit in the 700r4. Its got a servo kit and a B&M trans pack. the only reason im in the 13's now is because the 3.73 posi which i got for free from my uncle. Sorry i dont have 15K to put in a stroker motor. I have to drive my car everyday.

i was planning on goin to the track friday but I think its goin to rain but ill try to go anyway. Im getting my uncle to bring his 71 camaro if I go.

Well anyway does anyone know much about turbos?? My bro just got a turbo kit for a talon. Its not a little stock turbo either its a decent one with all the plumbing and an intercooler. I'd like to get it on my car and run a little boost like 5-6 psi or something. I bet i could get it on and make it work with some fabricating but i just never messed with them. its a garrett m24 turbo and again i have no idea what model or anything is or means sooooo yeahhhh.... I was just thinkig about getting a turbo headers and making my own collector for it to the turbo then running it up the front to the cooler that up to the carb. It has everything with it but im not sure if it would work good or not.... just an idea cause its just sittin there.

im just bustin your balls man dont go freakin out. and 15k?? if i had 15k in my engine id run 9s. i have all the same stuff you have, fresh pistons that are .030 over (i dont remember if yours are .030 over or not, but they are new), new rings/bearings, aluminum heads, small cam (i shift at 5800-6000), aluminum intake, holley carb, i just have a few less cubic inches. my engine is far from expensive, its not buying expensive parts that makes you go fast, its knowing how to put a total package together, and making things work with each other. you could dump a ton of money into a mis matched combo and still go slow, i did the opposite of that.

13.9 isnt that bad, for like a stock longblock stock cam with like an intake and headers and ignition and shit. seriously dude a combo like yours should be more like 12.9. but you will get there no doubt, like you said a nice small stall converter like that with a good set of drag radials and a little more tweaking you could get into the 12s. car sounded nice and looked good in that video btw. how come you havent smoked brett yet so we have one more thing to give brett shit about???? oh thats right hes too big of a puss to race from a dig....nm

ill be pissed if it rains friday. weather channel says partly cloudy low of 50, like that even means shit. be nice if it was true though.

I dont know man my heads got 1.94 valves in them if i get a stall and say some hell even old camel hump heads sure a 12's not crazy from reach but with my heads now i dont really see faster than a 13.5 with my stall and radials. Well ill see i guess.

So brett we still goin from a dig with my cutout open this saturday???? A.K.A. A REAL race. :o .. we'll run a 1/4 mil.....ish last time we raced i was pretty much out of gear.

Hrm. Idk what kinda flow #s scummit is getting from their in-house vortec castings, but an actual set of ported vortecs should be pretty damn healthy..vortecs are supposed to be better than the 2.02 fuelie heads anyhow despite the bigger valves.

So this is your cam then?
http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/CamDe ... id=87&sb=2

Seems kinda on the tiny side of things. How did you decide to match it to those heads? Do you know what runner those are?

well from summit there only 170cc runners which is close to stock runners, i think it is. but they were ported by someone before I bought them, The guy i got them off said a machine shop near akron or something. And they are iron so there just ported not polished. And not very much.

Yep thats it. Id take the fuelie heads over the vortecs IMO. The vortecs are ok and make and good power but old school 2.02's seem to work better. there 170cc runners with a minor port job. With the minor porting on the heads i figured they should be ok till around 6000 or so so I got my cam and a intake to match that. I got the POS summit stage one intake which is sopose to be good till 6000rpm but it is only good to like 5500 then it kinda losses a little power. The runners were tiny on my intake for being good till 6000rpm. The reason i got the cam i did is i wanted a wide powerband from under 2000 to around 6000 so i worked out, and my heads came with 1.6 full roller rockers so that helps a little to.

Just give me some trick flows and id be REAL happy! :D
