Noone on here. You're gonna have fun putting a turbo on with those 10.25:1 pistons. Every time high compression pistons are mentioned, all the dsm gurus talk about how quick its going to blow up.

For those curious about the visual:

im not snappin back so dont get excited but the engine was built to hold a 200 shot of nitrous so if it wont hold low boost it needed to blow anyway

its not really the low boost part its the octane/tune part. Just because its strong doesn't mean its not prone to the damage of pre-detonation.

But like you said about taking out timing and only 8 psi, I'd hope you knew what your talking about and are right with all the money wrapped up in your motor.

let us know when shes running.

Yeah, well if it was built for a 200 shot, it prolly has high compression...

which is not what you want.

What's all in the 'build'?
It whistles while it WORKS.

I suck.

i found a nitrous kit for 350 with everything needed, im thinking bout it

with the compression id rather retard the timing a little 2 much to start because i think we all know what "ping" will do to a motor... Buschur Racing 24 West Main Street Wakeman, OH is gonna set me up a dyno date and they are gonna tune it for me... I'd rather somebody that does it all the time do it cause saying I would turbo it, it would be my first turbo anything. I personally like nitrous better, its alot easier no computer or safc required, you put in the right jets and hit the button or activate the wide open throttle sensor and go faster

Buschur! WOOT!

I would rather go for a turbo set up if I was you then you dont have to refill a bottle and it is always there just my two cents

yea but im an idiot. with nitrous you can go to the max of a 200 shot (with the kit im buying). however with a turbo all I have to do it turn up the boost and KABLEWY.. i know i cant leave anything alone if i think i can go faster

I trust a turbo 1000 times over NO2... I don't like the idea of "running out" of my power.

true, however when you turbo something you are always putting your engine through "stress". With N2O you only do it when you need it and uses alot less gas so what you spend in refills you save at the pump...

thats why you get a good tune, and stay out of boost. THUS achieving roughly n/a gas mileage.

I was getting 28-30mpg freeway cruising at 70-75mph to C-bus and back, While still being able to run high 12's and trap 109. :)

Yah I got 29mpg coming back from cbus at about 70mph on cruise.

You just have to stay out of the boost and mpg shouldn't be a problem

I think Nitrous puts more stress then a turbo I just dont like nitrous to many stories of people blowing stuff up haha

yeah but like i said im an idiot and if i had had a boosted car the needle would be as far up as i could get it all the time... ive delt with nitrous and I personally favor it... I just wanted to ride in a 420a turbo so i could see if it was "worth it"

I just think the 10.25:1 is going to limit your capabilities, to the point where the efficiency range of the turbo is not going to be neared.

I could see maybe like 5psi on that setup. It's going to take more than pulling a few degrees out. I have heard of high comp high boost, but its a game to be played with a full standalone, and the fuel delivery almost acts like a desiel vs. timing maps.

Nitrous loves compression. Depending on your ring gaps, I'd say you built a nice little nitrous motor. I'd give the ignition a good once over and spray the shit out of it.

You will most likely see the most gains off a single hit then turbo. Won't be there all the time, but it's still there, and less hassle. Nitrous puts no more stress than any other power added other than the initial 'hit' which affected by where it's actually being injected (direct will hit harder than intake foggers). You shouldn't see much longevity difference at all.
It whistles while it WORKS.

I suck.
