Yeah i have a 700r4 in my z28. Im putting a 2400 rmp stall in it. I WAY rather have a 5 speed but the stock t5's olny hold up to 260lbs of torque. And a TKO is like $1500 so I guess im sticking with the auto. :(

trust me when i say thats pretty worthless without a trans brake, u'll need like a 3800+, even then u'll be lucky to get it up to 2800 on the foot brake.
Had a 3400 stall in a c4 before i converted to a t56, started moving around 2400-2600 on the foot brake.

Well my cams power band is from 1800-6000 rpm. I only really need it to stall about 1900. The convetor is a 2300 - 2500 stall but with my weight of my car and my rear end gear and Torque im expecting about 2300 stall at launch and 2200 stall foot brake. Its ways better than stock and should help my launches. My buick had a 1800-2100 rpm stall and the stall when i preloaded it was about 1750 rpm. Well ill see what happens.

WTF teacher didnt bring in the degree wheel......anyway so i worked on the passenger side plug wires. who planned on telling me that the plug wires on this thing where harder to change then the head? for real you guys can bash me all you want for saying that but if you have done it.... you know. FUCK OPTISPARK!!!!! optispark FTMFL!!! you have to rout thoes wires up and around like ten million things. and you have no room to fit your hands down their. ehh thinking about having my car towed to my buddys house and working on it their. i get no time to work on it at school and its really starting to piss me off.

See. Thats y I bought a third gen. All 5 wires that go to my motor are all in reaching range. Sucks for u. See where im at now. I got no o2s nothing. just my carb, which tuning it takes some time but its all free work done by me. Get back to work! :wrench:

with the oil pressure senSOR? ... just once u get the intake back on trying to actually get the thing screwed in and tightened down. ha i broke that and the coolant temp sensor on the passenger head too... but u live n learn.... i dunno the torque spec on that sensor u might wana look into that. all i know is that most everything on that car is a pain in the ass... over summer i'm rebuilding my motor though.... i have to, a buddy of mine talked me into doing it lol...

And ur point???? My car also came with a 190hp 305 stock. My oil pressure gauge goes to a mechanical line. Screw electric. Look what happendswhen it breaks. I just got a fitting to a line in my block to a gauge. I could run a stock electric one,but to my point I dont have that shit and dont want it. But my car is pretty much all "STOCK" some VERY VERY minor mods like exhaust. It only has a rough idle because I have a vacuum leak. LOL Not a big cam. Duh!

Well when you want to compare how sweet a 3rd gen is superior to well....anything, especially while poking fun; while being wrong....that's what you will get in return.

That's like saying, 'Haha 3rd gen camaros don't get rod knock'

retort: 'um, yeah alot do'

you: 'well mine is a rotary swap now you retard!'

blah blah blah.... :horse:

No im saying how good 1st gen small block chevys are. They are the best motors every made in my eyes and MANY MANY other people's. They runs forever, there is a crazy amount of parts for them everywhere ,they are cheap to build and easy to get good power out of them and they are very simple to build and tune, That is why the sbc chevy is one of the most common engines found in american street cars and drag cars. Except the 5.0 and 4.6 because ford guys dont like chevy or whatever but even alot of Fox body stangs people have SBC's in them and they run great, and people are putting them in s10'sold rx-7's Just my two cents. I said nothing about how good my car is.
