yep turns out the end on the sensor wasnt compression thread so i cut the nut off and put a new compression fitting on there, me and dave will be wiring the gauges tomorrow and i should b picking up the rims, give me a call if u wanna help/hangout

neon now has nitrous, so well see... haven't ran it yet
i do regret it but

fun<making it down the track/street

my spec stage 3+ was slipping... so i got a stage 5, it slipped. got an adjustable master cyl, got a ported slave cyl still slipped... so im like screw it! im done with the clutch problems yanno, so its not like its going to be boring or anything lol... 7k launches off the trans brake should be kind of fun =)


ps. i do hate auto cars but i was gonna lose it if i had to keep messing with the 6speed, not to mention the trans was only good upto 800ft/lbs of torque so i would prob destroy it with the nitrous... i still got one quick car thats standard tho, i put a 50 shot on the srt4

shoulda just got rid of the hydraulic slave bullshit and it woulda fixed your problems. spec stage 5 is supposed to be good for like 1100 ft/lbs, no way it was slipping due to 'excessive power'. Too late now anyway, sure it'll get u down the track faster, but pounding gears is way more fun :thumbsup:

hell, next thing i know u'll be getting a box for it so u don't even have to launch the car on your own anymore! U'll have a 'real' race car then! :lol:

ya, i coulda went to a cable clutch, but that woulda been a pain... not to mention still prob would have problems lol. never said i had too much power for the 5 but it wouldnt grab for shit lol... oh well, took a 180 with it but it is what it is... its still purrty hehe

As much as I really really hate automatics; and am a die-hard stick shift guy, I can definately appreciate his decision on going with auto if he's making it a dedicated track car. Although I personally thought it was cool as fuck being a stick shift ram air t/a going that fast, his company of choice of friendly competition isn't going to let that fly. I'm sure he get's shit from say Craig with the Mach (on a friendly level) about when is he going to catch up and yada yada. Well, I doubt any part of the conversation is saying 'hey it's really cool you bang that fucker down the track, so it doesn't matter'. Truth is when it comes down to the nitty gritty a number is a number. With a setup stalled auto and a shot, that car will prolly go 9s anyways, at that point does it really matter how it's done?


Would I rather a 10 sec stick car over a 9 sec auto car? Absolutely, but the choice isn't mine. You guys ever hear of the Manual Transmission Racers of America or some shit? It's a club/cult/series kinda like NMRA for the stangs, that is devoted to the 'lost art' of stick shift drag racing. Seems like a cool venue to watch, where the races will depend on a little more skill than luck and make for some wicked heads up or bracket sessions.

Anyhow, I think you get the point :thumbsup:

You made some good points Tom.

For me, I just have so much more respect for a TRUE manual car. As in a left foot clutch disengage with a right foot throttle lift EVERY shift. I watch autos run at Quaker and quite frankly they bore me. As consistent as they are its like watching paint dry. Call me gay but there is just something about watching a manual banging gears, fighting for traction and pedaling down the track that just tickles me the right way.

When its all said and done its his car, but its being turned into every other drag racing v8 out there. Cookie cutter. Sure it will kick my ass, but I feel like it lost that "cool" factor.

truth. way more respect for a fast stick shift car, thats the point i was trying to get at.
Anyone can sit in the car, hold a button, put the pedal to the floor, and release when the 3rd light comes on. Takes the skill out of it, and the fun too.
