so finally i got my dad to let me try to sell my cavalier..befor i sell it i want to try to save up a little so i can get a decent car.. im trying to decide on what i want.. im trying to keep it around 5k.. i was thinking maby a turbo saab of somesort...i wouldent mind getting into saabs and eventually getting a saab 92x aero wich is the same thing as a subaru wrx .. iv always wanted a turbo dsm and still would love to own one. give me some input.. what are some good platforms.. im looking for something with a turbo or turbo friendly

there is a website called modifiedcartrader.com or something like that all cars are modified or turbo`d you dont know about there past but im sure you can find somehting decent turbo`d there

i probably should have stated that my dad works at general motors.. i would love to own something like(the 300zx) that but it wont fly in this household

thats the whole reason why i won't buy foreign cars.... both my parents have worked at gm so im' GM biased....

who cares, when your buying used your supporting neither.

eiter way, some "foreign" cars are built here in the US. Then you have to think, the people that are hauling them, are americans, the people that re preping them at the dealerships are americans, and the salesmen selling them, are americans. IF they break, the american servicemen are the ones fixing them.

If your limited to general motors products, i'd probly check out a saturn vue. Great handeling, i've put one of those things through the turns & i was very impressed. The Solstice that i tuned was prety quick after it was all said & done. I'm not sure if a used one would be old enough to fit in your budget tho.

thats the thing here too. my gpa was one of the top guys out there doin w/e and i had no choice really when it came to getting a first car because most gm cars are so out of budget. with the money i spent on the grand am i could have had a choice between like 10 different foreign cars and a turbo kit, etc. oh well. i like my car. its nice i guess.

Finally someone with some sense! Just because you work for them doesn't mean you have to like their product. My father works for Progressive, and I intern there over breaks from school, but we use Esurance because it is a hell of a lot cheaper. I hate the stigma that people around here have about only buying GM. If I worked for GM and they had a better deal I would buy GM, but sometimes it doesn't always work out that way.

Thats how I feel too, you have to go with who has the best deal, the only car I like from gm is the g8

G8, CTS, Corvette, and GTO.

I also like the GMC Acadia for some reason, and all of its other GM variants.

9-2x Aero > WRX Wagon in my opinion, I def vote for that - too bad it isnt in the 5K range However, there is some good deals out there if you look around - I found mine in Detriot.
