I'll give a little review for the heck of it to start things off:
Anyone here a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan and give their new album "I'm with you" a listen? Today while washing my car (lucky for me it got rained on about an hour after I finished
), I listened to it about 1.5 times. I'm still not sure how I feel about it; there just isn't anything about it that really grabs me like the other albums did. Maybe it's the absence of John Frusciante that gives the record a different sound (or maybe it's just a mental thing-I know he isn't there and my mind was made up before I even gave it a try). Whatever it is, it's not really doing it for me like "By The Way" or "Stadium Arcadium" did. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that "I'm with you" is a bad CD, RHCP just took a little different direction and it needs to grow on me. With that said, I like that they went back to their roots a little bit and brought some funk back into the music. I hope this album ends up like the Mars CD from Stadium Arcadium, for me at least. The first few times I listened to that cd I was very...meh about it; however, once I listened to it a few more times, it really grew on me. I found myself getting into one of the new songs on my drive home tonight; maybe this is Mars round 2 for me.
