Mahoning Avenue will be repaved this summer between Meridian and Lipkey roads, including the causeway and bridge at Meander Reservoir.
Starting in early Summer, but will not be completed until September...

Thats cool and all and I think its great that a major road in this area is getting refinished entirely not just a cheap once over but does the county honestly want us to believe $360K is all they got? Maybe thats all they can contribute to this project but think about this for every 2 gallons of gas we buy we contribute almost a full dollar to the road dept. So for every $6.50 we spend they get $1. There is over 260k people in Mahoning county. Lets say out of an average day half of everyone bought $10 in gas, regular unleaded. Out of that there is 130k people contributing $1.50 towards roads. In total thats $195k dollars. So why the hell aren't there more road projects....where is my money going? Kirk by my house has holes big enough to bottom out full size trucks, New rd. is a total joke....plus plenty of other city roads that are horrible. I don't lend the poor roads to weather sure some of it is. Alot I think is poor engineering and rushing. You go to Cleveland, Akron, Kent, Pittsburgh or Columbus and their roads have one or two pot holes in a long stretch, our roads damn I lose count after 40ft or so.....sorry guys had to vent these roads are all bull$hit and I hate hearing its all just the weathers doing. Its poor engineering.

1) if they did that they wouldn't have an excuse to spend our tax dollars each year.
2) they need to do all the roads out of concrete then they wouldn't have this problem. I believe they do that in MI

Concrete ftw.. only problem is after 10 years or so its a bitch to replace... its not as easy to just grind down and cover over....

This really doesn't concern me since I'll probably use that road once a year...haha. Anyway, my issue right now is the pot holes. I keep spotting huge ones and wondering why they don't have a few people who just drive around and patch these.

Funny part about all these patch crews is they finally got to my end of Kirk Rd. go about half a mile down towards Austintown and they just stopped. Now why would you not hit and entire road each day instead of a little here a little there...! One would only think its logical to go down one entire road then do another entire road, not .3 mi on one then .8 mi on another. Makes no sense.

Why don't they just do it like they do freeways and be done with it? I don't understand.

I saw one hole that could have ate a wheel (I called my Mom and warned her about it)...they patched it that day, which is all good (I bet someone called about it) but on the same road there are tons of smaller ones. I just don't understand why they don't pay people to JUST do this on the clear days we get. I'm wondering if there is a number that you can call to report these. I would call everyday and report them just to be a pain.

I'm debating not even going back to my summer tires and wheels on my Accord until more of these wheel eaters are filled up. Rather bend a steelie than break a bead and scuff up my factory wheels.
I was also going to detail it, but who knows. Thanks to some (assuming) cunt who backed into the bumper at Brandywine, I have a lot of wet sanding to do too.
Anyone need their car detailed?
