lol riiight
no, people will just stop buying shit vehicles and the demand will go up for nissan / honda / toyota / lexus / bmw / kia / ect.
Then they will need more people to build more vehicles / more people to sell their vehicles / more people to ship their vehicles / and maybe one or two extra service guys (if they actually break). So all these people making supid amounts of money for putting on windshield wipper blades will just have to work for a normal wadge!

Did you really expect it to last??? with the money that they get payed to work an unskilled trade? not to metion all the retired autoworkers that have killer pensions and retirement..thats a lot of money.. so they'll get the bail out and then a few years from now be right back in the same place they are today...

gm is fucked. i was talking to my dad about it who's a coordinator there, he said upper management is so far overpaid that place has no chance unless they totally overhaul everything. top ceo's get paid 9+mill a year lawl.
They had a meeting a few days ago, everyone flew in on single passenger jets, cost being roughly $10,000 per trip. In the meeting they asked for sake of argument who was willing to give up their jets and fly commercial to save money (same trip via commercial only ran about 700 dollars) not one greedy mother fucker raised their hand. The guy was like ok, let that be written in the books when this place goes down.
its just funny how everyone's like 'ZOMG ITS GOIN DOWN HELP!!' but they still wanna get paid their 9mill/year and fly their single passenger jets to meetings

Greedy fucks.
plants closing down for a month.

my teacher was saying avg $ per hour for a gm employee is 70/80 per hour(that includes employee pay and retired/pension)
compare that to car makers over seas its around 45/55

main reason being they give pay bonuses to those willing to work night shift.
so for example, take said employee who has 30-40 years seniority in the plant (making about 30-50$ an hour base pay depending on the department they worked in) u move him to night shift, throw him a nice pay increase to work it.... 60 year old guy putting screws/clips in a few interior panels for 65-70 bucks an hour.... working the fucking ASSEMBLY LINE for $2,000+ a week take home (40 hrs/week).
GM also use to offer TONS of overtime to basically anyone who wanted it, tack on another 1.5x for overtime hours and 2x for working on Sunday... work 60-70 hours a week and your clearing almost 4grand.... 4,000 x 50 weeks... you do the math.

for sure... i've heard my share of stories about it down there. There is like no enforcement of any rules down there... and if u do get caught, the punishments are a joke. Half the people who work there probably should have been fired 5 times over by now.
and they wonder why the place is in the shitter

hmm.... maybe if u factor in all the top CEO's n executives but for the rest of the line workers, skilled trades and everyone else there who really works... talk to any line worker doing the same job over and over again for 8-10 hours isn't easy... you guys may think their jobs are cake but their really not. and line workers are only making around 13 or 14 a hour now. My moms a skilled trades and hardly makes 30 a hour. and as for 3 million auto jobs go.... what do u guys think would happen if suddenly 3million people just suddenly lost their jobs? most people can live very comfortably off of that job. i think there's going to be alot of pissed off people if ford gm and Chrysler close. so.... think about that before you guys start dissing the big 3... who cares what type of cars they make its more a matter of economics right now than who makes cars that don't break down and who does....

I've also heard those same stories. it kinda reminds me of when i replaced the quarter panel in my old '93 Pontiac Sunbird. well when i took the old quarter panel off i found a pair of socks in one of the channels in between the inner panel and the outer panel of the quarter, and i thought it was funny.LOL

the union out there never used to be like this though. my gpa worked there for 34 years. all your dads and shit probably know him very well. he says back in the day, everything was put together well. over the past ten years, they started to lose what control they had and the union wasnt so much a union anymore. people just dont give a fuck. and the ones that do have to suffer the consequences for example drews dad. look at the environment. no one gave a shit. it turned bad. now we're doing what ever we can to salvage whats left. its the same thing with this country. everyones blaming bush. yes bush did alot of things that hurt all of us in one way or another, but its everyones fault. no ones going to do shit until it starts to affect them and theres millions of people out there in this country that are in the middle class. its going to take a long time for everyone to be affected. and when it does happen then everyone will want ''change.'' everyone wanted ''change'' and voted for a black president and now are hoping he can save the economy. but i mean like usual, if the government cant do it themselfs blame em. i mean its not like its the peoples fault who wont sacrifice anything like one of you said theyre not willing to give up their private jets and shit. plus its not just america. its every nation in the world. if we go under, so does everyone else.

I could give 2 shits about their money troubles, and that should be the same way the government feels. I can't believe they are even thinking about it just like the banks, let those dumbfucks fall flat on their faces for having a failing company/business. Unions are the downfall of modern America but that is just my opinion. They should get what they deserve.
