New Rd, claimed one of the wheels on my G6 on my birthday back in Feb. When I stopped the tire still was holding some air, refilled it drove home, by the time I reached my house not 5 minutes away the tire was under 20 psi. So I take the wheel off to check it. There was a crack running from inside lip, nearly all the way to the face of the wheel. Total damages $287.77 getting the wheel at cost, tire was salvageable for reuse.
You would think there would be a petition about the roads and lack there of competent work done to them.
I keep repeating this. For every gallon of gas we purchase, we contribute 1/10 of a cent under 50 cents. For this lets just say for every gallon its 50 cents to make it easy for everyone. OK. There are 260,000 adults in Mahoning County. Now lets say half of them buy gas every day. To make it simple being some buy $10 some $20 some $50 lets for simplicity purposes say all 130,000 of those people bought $10 worth of gas, everyone with me so far? Good. At this point thats right around 3 gallons for $10. For every person buying gas that day thats $1.50 contributed to the road fund. 130,000 x $1.50 = $195,000 A DAY......thats $1,365,000 A WEEK.......thats $70,980,000 A YEAR who is pocketing this money? because its obvious its not being used on the roads.
Last thing I ever heard in the news about any funds being used for our roads was when the County rented a COLD PATCH machine for two days (Cost $280,000 for 2 days) to make 200,000 lbs of Cold Patch. Which is a start, being the cold patch stays in the holes no matter the weather conditions, UNLIKE hot patch which usually gets stuck to tires and doesn't stay long, or doesn't set entirely by the time traffic has gone over it and caused it to crest and create mini speed bumps.
Just think whoever gets this SS after me will have no idea it went consistant 12.30s
Hope everyone enjoys my down time.
