I'm moderating watching these people look like idiots. Fighting like children, arguing over who makes more money and who has more CI. Who the fuck cares really?

Cars are a hobby and a love for me, I like what I like and the next person likes what they like. End of story.

Don't get me wrong its all in good fun to poke fun at each other in good spirits, hell I make fun of my own self. After reading all of what I missed some of you have some serious growing up to do.

This started out as a good thread, but somewhere in the arguing between Rick and Craig it went south.

I really don't care about anyone in this thread, but I have to agree with the the guy who has a boner for his Trans Am. Leasing a car (truck) and bragging about it seems pretty retarded to me. Thats like renting a lambo and running 11's then telling everyone you run 11s. The fact that you put nitrous on it is even better. If you would have blown it up that dealership would have really fucked you in the ass on your payments... This is just my opinion, do what you want with your $.

Now for fastest 4-banger, sure a big turbo 4g63 awd car will prob take the cake, esp when its the 1/4 we're talking about.

Yes lets get back to the topic I started and hopefully no more bashing my car from others will take place.
I'm a little familiar with the evo's but know NOTHING about the Subarus. Do they have the same strong motors as the evo9's? Can they be built as easily as the evo's? Educate this old man on here please. I'm friends with John the dsm guy from Atown and he has educated me with the dsm motors a little. I drove an evo 2 summers ago and a star was born! I want one pretty bad for the wife and boy but she got a new Saturn instead.

It was a smart buy program I was in, meaning for the first two years I got the great payment of a lease and then it rolled into a buy after the 24mo were up. it was supposed to be $434mo for 60mo there after for the buy, alot better then the $798mo if I was to buy it up front on 60mo. Yet even before I had a bottle on it, the body was twisting, noticed it sometime in Oct. 06 After that and the fact that the payment quoted and the payment I was actually going to be into was two totally different figures all together at the end of two years. $588 is not $434 by no means. (plus someone keyed it) Anyhow dropped the idea of buying it for all of those reasons. Fought GM on me signing off on the buy program.

I was planning on doing alot more than just n2o on it, high stall tq conv. 1.85 rocker arms, LS7 throttle body, wanted 11.80's out of it but after I realized it twisting (even before any mods) I no longer wanted to own it. Who wants to pay 38+k for a vehicle thats twisting or has had paint repairs.

YES, I totally agree with you I would have been in alot of hot water if I ever did scrap a piston or snap a connecting rod. However I did take alot of steps towards making the n2o as safe as possible to run. Just my .02

Subies are pretty stout, their trannies are noted for their strength although he ratios are far to close for my likings. Either or can be built into monsters as long as you have the cash.

If your ever at a track and hear a STI going through gears like mad, its quick.

STI motors are a bit more complicated since they are flat 4's. So its a ton like working on a V motor.

I'd love either car, but haven driven both, and relatively hard. EVO > STI.

If your comparing evos to subarus, lets narrow it down to the STi. As Cory said, flat4 engine layout is not has fun to work on. However, if you want big power, keep the stock internals and throw on a bolt-on big turbo kit on w/supporting mods (injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, get tuned) and you got 400-500 at the wheels on pump gas.

Stock for stock, the evo might have my vote. Once your comparing upgraded STi's and evo's it may just depend on who's driving and who has more done to the car.

Evo's seem to be the choice for easy power before needing to upgrade the turbo.. and also win peoples vote. My experience is with subarus, but I also kinda wish I would of tried an evo  . Booth seem to be great cars

Without a doubt Subaru's are great cars, very reliable and very good all around cars.

My next daily driver will be another Subaru, you simply cannot beat the AWD and the simple reliabilty.

Mines cranking on 225k currently and runs strong as hell, too bad the body is falling off around it for the previous owner most likely never took care of it. The ign system finally went around 215k miles, but a junkyard stop later and a few new plugs, she was back to normal! Alternator went at 210k miles, that is outstanding!

Yea the 4g63 motor is strong and can take alot of abuse on even the stock block, about 550whp. The evo and sti have there good and bad points about each. Mitsu trannys r known to break unless u upgrade em. STI trannys seem to be unbreakable. The interior on an STI owns!!! an evo any day. But frm my driving experience. I would never trade my evo for a STI any day of the week! Just the overall look of the evo I think I like better. More aggressive. The evo 9 is the fastest 4cyl on the market I believe. Making 143.2 hp per liter! It only has a 2.0 liter vs the STI has a 2.4 i think. And like the guys said, the STI motors being flat 4's are a bitch it looks like to even change the spark plugs! I have a Subaru (u r a bus lol) as a daily also. Got almost 200k on her and running strong. Id say drive a modded evo and sti. And see wht u like....if u wanna keep it stock! Evo owns!

lol do your homework son! 2.5 liter in USDM STI, JDM got a high reving 2.0 liter. Older WRX's up until Daves and ACV's generation got 2.0 liters the new WRX's are all 2.5's.

If I had 20 grand to blow and could afford the insurance a stock EVO daily would be the hit for sure.

Woah I missed out on some stuff here.

Just two cents I like EVO exterior better then STi and

STi interior better then an EVO

Aaron I think you were referring to evo seats about the leather ones but I know the STi limited has a leather interior.
