LOL. You guys are funny. But please don't make me out to be an idiot, that is one thing I'm not.
Of course FWD cars with 700hp aren't going to hook properly, but there are TONS of steps to make it better. This is NOT a drag car, it's a street car.
The car is corner weighted, rides on 800lb springs, has a KAAZ LSD, speed based boost control, traction control, etc.
Here some tire setups I have..
STREET:
The car sees auto-x and lapping days on 255-40-17 Falken Azenis tires, and they hook pretty good up until 450whp, which is usually all I run on pump. Any more power and the car DOES NOT hook well on the street.
Now keep in mind one thing. At 450whp power level, this car had traction problems about the same as a bolt on, stock turbo, 2g FWD with the T-25. It's really not bad at all. It will "haze" the tires through 2nd, and hook 3rd 100%.
This is based on the last setup, with single stage boost control, and no traction control. I never had time to really fine tune the traction control.
STREET ON KILL MODE:
235-60-15 M&H Bias Ply's. These are basically slicks, but they are DOT rated. These are new for this year, so I have no idea what they will hook like. But I've heard nothing but good things. I'm hoping they can hold the car at 650whp in 3rd gear, which is EXACTLY why I said let's race from 60 to 180.
TRACK:
I have 24.5x8x15 MH Slicks. I've cut numerous 1.8's on these back when I was learning the car. Never really got it figured out completely, but that was when the car was full weight. I figure back then it could have went 1.7's pretty easy. 1.6's should be capable this year because I've taken some weight out of the car.
The car at 530whp level, has ran many 11's and many 132mph traps. This is ~100whp less than it will be this year, and I'll actually have a turbo that spools between shifts, and a clutch that allows me to shift fast. Plus I've thrown alot of weight out of it.
The 2step is the ONLY way to get a big turbo car out of the hole. I used to bog leaving the line last year at 8psi off the line. Takes a while to dial in a FWD car on slicks properly.
OF COURSE, THIS IS NOT A TRACK CAR. THIS IS NOT A DIG CAR. THIS IS A STREET CAR FIRST AND FOREMOST. 140MPH TRAPPING STREET CAR.
Any more questions, or stupid comments, feel free to post.
