well i mean if a person is gonna put that much horsepower in a car, you think that they would invest in a scattershield.

Yeah I rarely see any high hp street cars running a scatter shield. The whole 'tranny explode into car' thing isn't that common.

i wonder what thats like sitting in a vehicle doing whatever your doing (racing or getting ready) and you hear the loudest pop in you ever heard while you see scraps of metal just fucking come through the floor taking out chunks of everything. that should be on the slowmotion show on discovery

most people who put that kind of money into a car invest in a trans that can hold it. Only 'race cars' tend to have scatter shields unless they're just paranoid. I don't see much point to one unless ur really pushing the limits on what u have

i know, i was just speaking for the whole drive train in general. you dont throw together a 900hp motor and throw the stock parts/bolts back on it and expect it to hold

generally u've gotta be reving pretty damn high to worry about it coming apart like that

Many other variables other than that. If the flywheel gets stress cracks, the bolts back out of the crank, the pressure plate bolts loosen up... I did post pictures of the GTR is happened to a while back. Its not unheard of, and from the damage it does to the car is very possible its lethal. I plan to utilize a tranny blanket over mine before reinstalling. I'd rather be safe than missing my legs.

definitely could be lethal, i don't blame you. the extra 25lbs is worth keeping your legs.
