so i took my valve cover off to re paint it and check some shit out everything was looking good UNTIL i was looking at my camshaft and noticed wear on it so i looked at it closer and this is what i found!

What am I looking at?

the camshafts wear and the broken bearing on the rocker lol used my phone camera it blows way to rub it in nick

i was thinking about it i was looking at some rockers on slowboy that were in price range as for the camshaft it would be a good month or two before i had enough cash to upgrade i would love a set of bc ones if you want to buy em for me

Strangely enough I had bought a set of 3g revised lifters off the past owner while he had that car....said he was incapable of installing.

Wonder if he tried the screwdriver trick with the cams in and bitched up that rocker

With this string of bad luck, mine is sure to break soon....great

seriously tom lol but that justin guy was cool but i dont think he took care of it that well that rocker had to be like that for a while i havent driven the car enough to wear it that bad ........

but gary how much do you want for it i can possibly pick it up today?

you can just have one i have a coffee can full of all the random shit out of another head that i kept just in case. and this is one of those just in case moments. today actually wouldnt be good, but tomarrow would be...

tomorrow is good for me i need directions and stuff but good thing you think of those just incase situations lol and as for the cam it should be fine for now in about a month or two im probably going to upgrade them anyway so

Well if it gets bitched up, it won't take but a few minutes to ruin the cam, but with that broken, it's not like it would keep it from running.

IDK if any of you guys have ever dropped one of those, but the roller bearing is VERY brittle, and usually splits or hairline cracks if you drop it. I tried the screwdriver trick at the junkyard once for shits and giggles to get a lifter out, and its near impossible not to shoot the rockers flying while doing it.....it probably fell at one point, as that car has never jumped time (that I know of) or anything that would cause extra stress on those. He owned that car for like 3 mos after I bought the lifters, so who knows.

BTW, when you have the cams out SPEND THE MONEY AND BUY THE 3G REVISED LIFTERS!!!!

Best fucking thing on a DSM I ever did! It's so nice and quiet....never ticks EVER....even when I had a hellacious oil leak and was like 2 1/2 quarts low

come down 11 to 80 which turns into 76 get off at the lake milton exit, go left to the light, turn right and im the first house on the right youd see my pos down by the garage

and to tom i was thinking of the revised lifters when i first got the car i read about them and how nice they are taking away the tick and everything so i guess i will do that how much would those run me ?

I think like $120-150 is the going rate. Worth every penny.

I won't even think about doing another DSM without them after using those.
