Kit looks decently nice, graphics FTL...., could loose the gauges not sure what you need them to monitor being stock...

Is it a 5 speed or auto, what mileage?

EGT, Oil pressure, fuel pressure. I'd put those in on a stock car. But anyway, welcome! Start planning the swap!

Waste of money personally. Better get some on your Explorer then.

Swaps cost a lot of money, I hope you have been researching! Are you a member of Nico?

You kidding me? Maybe if the car already has a stock oil pressure gauge. But if it doesn't, i'd personally like to know whether or not there is still oil in my car. What if a seal blows out? My explorer has a stock gauge, or else I probably would put one in. And with any car i modify, be it headers intake whatever, it isn't a bad idea to know whats goin on inside the engine you are pushing past stock limits.

Heres how I see it, critical gauges on decently modified engines.. IE more than simple bolt ons like exhaust and an intake need monitoring...

I've seen sooo many people with rice cars, that have gauges out the wazzooo for the "cool" factor. It comes off as rice in my opinion. Like a boost gauge on an n/a car for instance, or an air/fuel meter that really doesn't meter ANYTHING since its a 5v narrow band...

Nick to tell you the truth, most auto manufacturers that use oil gauges really don't tell you ANYTHING other than the pressure its fine. They sit right in the middle of H and L, theres no fluctuation like their should be. The reason being for this especially with Ford is people used to call in and say "my oil pressure is wrong, at idle its at L then when the cars moving it goes higher..." so Ford just made the gauge stay right in the middle to keep these idiots from phoning in. You can verify this next time you go start your engine up.

Factory ECU is well equipt to keep problems from your engine away. If its missing fuel/low pressure it will pull timing saving your motor, or just shut it down completely, and a CEL will tell you the problem.

I'm not sure what you would need an EGT on with an n/a car....

Sorry for totally whoring your intro thread. I'll stfu now, I'm pretty opinionated. My car's got a blown turbo at the moment feel free to fire back. lol :)

My Miata has a fake OPG...it's hooked up to the ECU, that has some simulated oil pressure software written into it. So it just goes up and down and looks interesting.

i have a fuel pressure gauge and a air/fuel ratio gauge but its not hooked up cause i dont know how.anyway its good 2 have gauges so u know how ur cars runing and help when u have a problem. right now i have a bad sensor and dont know what its is. normally when my car sits and idles my my fuel pressure is 40psi and now its saying 45psi and it wont stay idleing and if i press the throttle in halfway and hold it its revs then boggs down. any one have any idea .I just put new plugs in and it didnt help.and i have some gas in my oil but i probly had a fouled plug[s] if so it should be ok now message me myspace brian304

Your car is most likely getting too much fuel and not enough air at idle due to the FPR issue, replace the stock FPR and it might fix your issue. Or if you fucked with your TB you might need to readjust the idle set screw.
