This is actually how you're supposed to do it... on an LT1. Of course, I didn't have to since LS1's are totally different.

Why would take the head off? So you're going to get the head out of the way, only to put the header in then have it be in the way when you put your head back on?

Well, it isn't a simple header install.. More of a cunt-whore-bitch of a header install. There is next to no room to work on either side of the engine, tons of shit in the way, you cut your arms and hands up throughout the prosess, half of the motor is shoved underneath the dash(thanks GM), etc..

But with that being said, one of my biggest pet-peeves (and I have a lot of them, trust me) is when people ask for advice, they recieve it, then do completely the opposite n ask why it didn't work. Brett, sometimes it's better to close your mouth and open your ears. We're just trying to help you but you keep getting defensive. Consider it constructive critisizm.

crx. rush was my teacher last year. but no he's not anymore. now its mr. silvestri. but mr. young is the one i'm talking about. he specializes in GM cars.

jake. omg just shut up you have no idea what your talking about and you just make yourself sound dumb every time i read your post. oh yeah and BOTH of my teachers have done more long tube installs on f-bodys then they can count. the only diffrence is mine are emmitions free. they cant do thoes at a dealership. and i tried everything i could to get the bolts off without breaking them. after all failed. and then BOTH of my teachers failed they told me to break off the head of the bolt. pull the manifold off. and try everything again. maybe you should read cause i already said that.

headers arnt hard drew although took me and dave some time to do mine, the damn bolts were stubborn and the 02 sen was a bitch but a little pb blaster slapped that bitch right n place and then she screwed like the best of them!

I think you could have dropped the front cross member and whole engine/trans assembly faster than this, and had it back in by now.

iron and aluminum dont mix.(iron bolt and aluminum heads) the bolts would not move. and yeah drew the headers are hard in f-bodys but its not that bad if you dont break any bolts...... and cory the reason its taking me so long is because i only get to work on it for an hour to an hour and a half if i'm lucky. on school days. and i was suspended for 3 days. but yeah the tear down is going to be done tomorow and throwing everything back together should go alot faster.hoping to have it back together next week or soon after that.

Brett, just do yourself a favor.. Put your car back together and put it up for sale. Don't ever buy an enthusiast car ever again. Maybe you should get yourself a nice Lumina or a Corsica? You're making your own car look bad..
