Agreed, Dodge, and GM have been making fuckin sleds. What happened to refining the car, with less power, to do the same thing?

It does look good.

I think they go for looks not taking in to mind the weight then throw a big enough motor in it to push the car

Cory......its called a Saturn Sky Redline, lighter, soon to have now don't quote being I'm not into them I believe in the 280hp ballpark this year. Was 260hp last year. I know that for sure. Easily modifiable and if GM ever gets their heads out of their asses they will put a 5.4 liter or similar variant of the LS based engine and make it an all around badass little machine. Don't get me wrong the Ecotec direct injected turbo motor is fun and easy to build on but limited.

The new Camaro even in LS "BASE" form will have a DOHC 3.6 liter v6 pushing out 300hp and 294 ft lbs. Correct me if I'm wrong Brian isn't the new 2010 Mustang GT debuting with only 315hp, (not to take away from the optional dealer installed 400hp or 500hp "FSC" option and the king 568hp Shelby) FINALLY Ford listens to it customers and makes performance packages.

Here are the stats.

Base 2010
Camaro 300hp
Mustang 243hp
Challenger 250hp
350Z 307hp
Upper level 2010
Camaro 400hp
Mustang 315hp
Challenger 370hp
350Z 339hp
Top level 2010
Camaro 550hp est. (All new Cadillac CTS-V with this engine is stated to make 550hp and is putting close to those number to the pavement)
Mustang 568hp est.
Challenger 525hp (already on the roads kids)
350Z (nothing yet on these cars level, maybe the Skyline would be more comparable in this arena) Not sure on its stats. I assume it costs more then any one of these cars listed above.

I agree that a lot of what is being done today is for looks value the HP numbers are awesome but once in a 4000lb??? Then again none of that is truly going to stop me from buying one, if I wanted them. Every 100 lbs saved is a 1/10th in the 1/4 mile. Ok ok I just noticed I delve way into a subject that I never planned to write this far into.

The Sky Redline is only one example... where are the others?!

370z doesn't have a high end, that would be the GT-R priced a few thousand above the competition however... But this is also a car that's in the Z06/Viper/Porsche Turbo league something none of those cars you listed are.

The new CTS-V is a monster! It is the worlds fastest production sedan around the 'Ring.

I've driven the old CTS-V and it was nice but the e-brake on the floor just confused me. Hopefully the new one isn't like that.

Yea we raced a cts-v back a few years ago when we had our turbo 4 door civic. LOL we had him from a roll but he had us by like 1/2 a car length at the red light.. Dude was cool about it, but he was a little pissy about a 94 civic keeping up with his ass. Still a hot car. LOL =)

New this year to the CTS-V is the use of an electronic parking brake

The new CTS-V with a curb weight of 4398lbs in a recent magazine shoot just went 0-60 in 4.021 sec and 1/4 track in 11.381

Figuring the new Camaro is going to weigh in at close to 400 lbs less, do the math. I'm not trying be an A$$ but thats fast in anyones books.

So what does Honda or Acura have thats debuting thats so badass again, I must have missed that.

Plus...lets not forget that the Caddy is meant to be a smooth ride with more torque modulation, with the Camaro won't have.

Cory..... sorry for the typo "370Z" I forget about the name change.....again, they aren't first on my list but still a nice car.

Brian....New NSX has some real nice lines to it. Love the wheels. After looking at it for a little it now reminds me of an elongated tiburon, in my opinion.

The times were stated at the end of a video online and then at the very end it said issue on stands now. Can't remember the actual mag it was out of. If you look up 2009 CTS-V on YOUTUBE, STREETFIRE AND METACAFE you're bound to find it though.

was on the highway with one of the 450hp versions (pre 09) and rand all the way up to 150-175mph area & with my bike & that car hung pretty damn strong! I was extreamly impressed with it. The driver of the car admitted to the car running 12's. It's hard to get off the line with the weight, but once it's moving it really goes.

Cory....I'm not taking the time to look up the videos, sorry. I know they are on one of those sites. It showed the car at the track and even showed the numbers on the boards at the end. At the very end of the video it stated numbers, thanks to the track that was used and then the advertisement for the mag being available on shelves soon. It was possible the car had slicks or DR's on it. If I get some spare time to browse around I will post the links. Further more the current ZO6 (06-09) all have 505HP from the factory. On the dyno these cars are putting down around 470-480HP to the ground.

Now the NEW ZR1 Corvette thats rated at 638HP (4 lobe roots blown 6.2L at 10.5psi) is putting to the ground ballpark 581-617HP. Now if you consider the new CTS-V has the same engine save for 8.5psi boost and a valve train that only supports 6300rpm instead of 6600rpm and the CTS-V is putting to the ground nearly the exact same numbers as its rated at. Does GM under rate their HP figures I would guess they do.

Cory did you think the CTS-V had the ZO6 engine in it? Just curious....
