I'll be at the Nats, although idk if I'll be running. VERY good chance of having a car friday but I don't want to take it straight to the dragstrip anyhow...its setup like an American Iron car anyhow for the turns

97 cobra vert with full Maximum Motorsports 'Max Grip' Package <<<$5,000 package
Also Kenny Brown jacking rails tied in, with a cage, coilovers, brembos....the freaking works. Add more balls and it'd be untouchable in it's class pending driver skill :D

Fully loaded - Mach 460 stereo, power everything, leather, etc.
Full interior intact - Everything works, even the A/C.

u really have to be joking>? potential wise.. its no comparison.. better eng platform, 100000x's better suspension, ... all it needs is a little toms touch and its gonna be ridiculous , i think it will out shine the red mustang by far when ur done with it

Very nice set up, man. I bet that thing handles pretty well with all those suspension mods.

no i understand this car is going to be a LOT faster. i just thought the red mustang had a very clean overall appearance. not that this isn't, i'm just not a fan of convertibles. but its not like that would even matter. still looks the same, drives even better. cant argue the awesomeness of a cobra.

First it's a she ;)
All cars are "she's"

She didn't do tooo badly considering; definately not the fastest but I never planned it to be just yet. Went 14.7 @ 94.74 however I think I could do alot better on the drag radials. The car is just stupid stiff and thanks to the thin sidewalls it has nowhere to really squat. Hence my consistant 2.3 60's :D The car likes it up top but you have to get it out of 1st gear to really enjoy it. I would figure a low 14 @ 97-98 is possible in better conditions with some tires, which is about where it would be being a heavier vert and then with all the extra shit and only having an intake, gears, and clutch. I was happy enough but honestly I didnt even really care as you have to go through turns to enjoy this car.

Originally I was going to forge it with a blower, but the way it handles, I'll be damned if I add weight to the nose. So, it's likely getting good rods, high comp pistons, some nasty ass cams, and some slight headwork with the intake runners shortened. People make over 400whp n/a with these cars this way and albeit not being the force fed moster I had planned originally, I think it'll best suit the car. You really have to drive it to appreciate it.

On a side note it's trapping the same as a certian POS '400whp' civic I saw make mid 14 sec passes @ 95mph on drag radials this entire weekend. Slowmotion is really living up to their name on that one.

Yeah I enjoy that particular Mustang amongst other Mustangs in that it seems as though it was actually built to be driven like sports cars are to be driven. As much as a Cobra vert is a bad platform to start with; drop 1200lbs and you've got a racecar with this setup! :lol:Image
