Hola! It's been too long. I guess that would mostly be because I'm still without a car. I finally had a day off so Gary and I decided to go car shopping! We made quite a few stops and before I begin to explain them I have on question. WHY do care salesmen HARASS THE FUCK outta people?! No offense to any salesmen on the forums (I do my own version of sales I guess)... but my first stop was by far the most interesting (and disturbing).

I know everyone has seen the yellow EVO at Boardman Mitsu.. well next to it sits a 2003 GTS Eclipse.. I don't know why I'm hooked on the stupid cars but I wanted it... bad. Sooooo after peering at the ad they have online I decided if I could talk them down in price a bit it could be worth it. (They're asking 12,000 or something.. ) Basically it was once set up as a turbo car and the salesman (that seemed to think he needed to cus throughout his explanation of the car) started it for me. After about 5 minutes of revving and holding it at i dunno.. 3 grand Gary and I couldn't help but laugh and walk away. I don't know what was wrong with the car but I wasn't going to buy it if it was "just one of those cars you have to warm up before you drive.. you know like in the winter" as the salesman said. SERIOUSLY?! Okay... so on to the EVO. Apparently it has 700HP... with it's buscher engine and 7lbs of boost???? Don't forget the methanol drip! I don't know anything about the car but really? He took us for a ride because apparently I'm not qualified to drive it (because I HAVE A VAGINA!) Boo.. I must say I wasn't impressed. (Overall the Salesman seemed inexperienced and way too rude for me to ever purchase a car from him)

After that experience I was a little peeved, but there was one more stop I HAD to make. Hellooo MIni Cooper at the Saturn dealership in Boardman. I don't even think the salesman knew English very well. Just as he knew NOTHING about the damn car. He told us the price was 15,9xx (30-40,000 miles, 4cy, 2003 i believe) FML. That is stupid. He wouldn't budge on the price... not a bit. I don't understand how that was possible but, whatever.

From there on we drove up and down Market St. looking for ANYTHING. At this point I give up. I don't know what I want at all so buying now would be stupid but the poor putt putt is coughing up its lungs and barely makes it up hills anymore. If anyone has any suggestions on good buy's let me know! I'm going to hang in there until there is SOMETHING worth it.
Time to research everything and anything... UGH. Suggestions greatly accepted! I miss the car world.

did u try the nissan dealership? most of the salesmen are pretty cool, get a "cube" lol, the subie dealership had a nice 07sentrs ser and a 06 wrx that were pretty nice, check autotrader and vindy

I'm hitting up Nissan and Subaru this week sometime... I think they are probably the easiest places to look. I honestly want to buy brand new but who knows! Used cars seem to be going for wayyyy over their value.. at least to me.

Is the '06 WRX still there? or are you talking about the one they had in like april? if its still there i know where im heading tomorrow haha.

I've been looking at cars since about march and used do seem to be priced either right at the KBB suggested retail for dealers or a few hundred over that.

Its called "Confessions of a Car Salesman." It's pretty long, but if you have the time it is definatley worth reading through. It came out a few years ago so some of you may have read it. There is an "update for 2009" at the bottom of the first page as well.

I did.. told the guy I wouldn't buy the eclipse for over 10.. and would even put cash down and he said I could put cash down on the 12,000 to make it below ten and blah blah blah.. f.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot. I still want to punch him hahaha. The other guy wouldn't even drop the price on the mini 500$!! What has this world come to?! It seems like there is no price negotiating anywhere!

i dont care how bad the economy is..the dealers are still wanting a shit load for cars and arent budging...unless theres a liquidation going on..their tighter than everrr..every1 has their opinions but i believe if everything was cool, theyd let that eclipse go for 10000..now they wont because they want every dollar they can get.

honestly they're only willing to let new cars go cheap. They already have $ invested in the used ones so they aren't really willing to let em go unless theyre turning a profit.

Dealerships also tend to be retarded dealing with anything modified, they think just cause it has $x,xxx of parts on it means it sells for $x,xxx more than kbb... when in reality ur lucky to get half

I believe the kid that traded the eclipse in only got 8g for it... I'm almost positive the car doesn't have a catalytic converter... selling a car at a dealership without one is illegal in Ohio, isn't it? Free car for me?! lol

HAhA!!! I don't think the car has much of a future! My dad is collecting Lumina's for some odd reason I think there are 3 in the driveway right now and one of them is super ghetto. I'll have to snap some shots if I remember. Sorta reminds me of that car haha! Just keep lime green bandanna fabric in mind.....
