...I'm halfway there idk.

After having the secondary fuel pump take dump on me; then came the ignition gremlins.

MSD coils = JUNK btw

Had two setbacks last year, and it got the best of me. Had the ebrake bracket tear down and trash my aluminum driveshaft....making it out of balance. Also had the harmonic balancer separate on me. I can't remeber which happened first.

Well I hadn't got around to changing the driveshaft. Figured I'd do it 1st thing after a tune. Well the harmonics decided to junk my rear main seal on the dyno....covering my clutch in oil.

Ever try making a pull with a fubared clutch? Doesn't work. Even out of boost, my #s were 100rwhp/tq off base (from my (n/a #s) and coming on WAY late. As soon as they started to get everything cleaned up, the oil leaks started and my power started going bye-bye. I went from making 385/390 only taking it to 4k on 4psi rich as fuck with no timing to like 350ish/370-380 at 6k and 11psi with good timing and a/f's. Which are dynojet #s, whereas my car previously on an MD did 296/315 or around 320 dynojet rwhp. It literally feels like a turd of a 30hp gain only felt barely towards redline as I watch the blue smoke from my covered exhaust.

Needless to say I was a a tad disheartened. $3500 should not yeild 30hp and a slug from where it was anyhow down low.
So anyhow, I'm fixing all my leaks and tossing a new clutch back in it and seeing how it does. There's no reason it shouldn't wail past 400rwhp as told by Terry at Street Lethal (GREAT dude to work with btw   ).

Anyhow I guess I've got some work to do before I give up and build something different. I would add my usual 'fuck mustangs' line....but I think I've already outused it. Sure hope the clutch thing cures it.....cause it sure sucks.

:wrench:

So to do list:

Pull trans
Balance Driveshaft/get new one
New clutch disk
New rear main seal
Reinstall
Return to dyno
Make some numbers

At least your engine is still together.

Brian,

I'll have to check if it was the blaser2 or not. It's the standard TFI coil type, the one that has the black base/red coil; not the new 'all red' coil they sell now.

Stock coil ftw appearently

Well, it's all back together for the most part after I decided to change the oil pan while I was at it......HORRID job with the engine in the car btw.

Just need to change my VC gaskets while I have the upper off, bolt these subframes on while the exhaust is hanging and slip the old driveshaft back in.
