Hey (insert bad name) the vid I posted was of LEGAL street racing......thus the post....

As much as some of you hate it, a huge majority of the street racing community loves it. Honestly I like it, less stress on drive train components less chance of breaking and being stranded on the street to only get a ticket.

Back in the day when I got my street racing ticket, it was from doing dig races in a deserted location. While earlier that night I roll raced all night with zero issues. Just some food for thought.

This roll racing they are doing at TX mile is getting HUGE, like majority of the big name shops are getting involved as well as some of the high end modified car community. So hate if you want, but its sure exciting to watch for a lot of ppl, especially when these street cars are pushing 1k HP+, fighting for traction, street tires and pushing 180+ mph through the traps.

Back in the day? You mean wwwaaayyyy back in like, '06?

You getting a ticket that night didn't necessarily have to do with weather you were in a roll race or a dig (real) race. It's just wherever the cops were at that given moment. The risk is just as probable in both cases, just gotta be careful. Learn how to launch and if you're making any kind of power whats-so-ever, don't bother with regular radials. City streets aren't covered with VHT. :geek:

Roll racing is gay no matter how many people do it.

And the argument about breaking and getting a ticket is retarded. You're mixing two things together: street racing and dig racing. That's just like chicken fucker saying that theres no good spot to dig race in Boardman so roll racing is where its at. ummm lolwut? Go somewhere else. If you're spot is no good to race its no good to race, dig or roll.

Less stress on the drive train is great for people who are too cheap to build the drive train.

I wasnt hating on the video but the one you gave us was just a preview I think hah. I actually watched the video where they actually raced eachother, I think the Lambo smoked everyone? dont remember but yeah the actually racing at the TX is tight.

I think roll racing is pretty badass at those speeds. You're not gonna go head to head with someone at 160mph in the 1/4

Exactly, not to mention these cars roll racing are making 2-3 times the power of either of you bill and rick. You keep a manual trans together and drive train at the power with launches. Most of these cars in that vid are NOT track cars, and are just street machines.

40 rolls to 180mph legally is baddass, I dont see how you pussies dont agree.

Roll racing takes the skill out of straight line racing. Heres what I think of when it comes to this stuff: these people have enough money to make a car go fast, but cant drive worth a shit = roll racing.

40 rolls to 180 legally is badass?... hmm... no i think its just that going that FAST legally is badass, doesnt have anything to do with the roll racing.

IMO the biggest difference that you make to get your car to go faster without modding the car is launching your car as good as you possibly can. Roll racing you are already moving.

I mean theyre at the texas mile for fucks sake, start from a dig, run it out and quit being a pussy.

Being a pussy are you serious? Did you watch that video? Did you notice the cars driving half sideways just fighting for traction. Do you even know how hard it is to put down 1000+whp on a non prepped surface in a street car? (even a prepped one for that matter) It takes a fuck ton of skill and pedaling to keep the car straight while still accelerating forward what that sort of power, even with proper DR's which most of those guys run. Alot of them arnt even able to plant it till 100+, even at that ratethe FR cars generally are still pedaling.

Consider the power they are making to a race in the snow vs another car, tires do come into play but for instance my race with Bill, the whole time I was pedaling my car and modulating the throttle while keeping the car straight, theres a lot of feel that goes into it, and its not just a "pin it and go".

Yeah i watched the video, i saw some of them get a little sideways but i mean thats racing lol, you still have to drive your car. Im not saying that it doesnt take skill to drive a car with that kind of horsepower, but it definitely takes significantly less skill to start a race while moving rather than stopped.

So are your saying that its too hard for them to race from dig? So its too difficult for them to launch their cars from a dig and since doing it from a roll makes it easier, therefor its better?

I have WAYYYYY more respect for a street car that traps at 140, than a street car that would run from 40-180.

As a matter of fact, I'd rather have 60' races than roll race from anything to anything. You just can't beat a hard launch for me, no matter how fast you go.

I can literally write a book on this subject, but I won't. Simply put, roll racing is fun when it's you and your buddy clowning on the freeway, we've all done it, but when you're claiming it's a real form of racing, you need your head examined.

Enough of the YouTube racing already..

When are you going to get that thing back on the road anyway, Cory?

Bill a car that can do 180mph in only 1/2 mile is a 140 mph + car....

I got it back on the road in 08. Put 3700 miles on it that year. Drove it twice last year, mostly because my Buick kept my time and money tied up.

No, considering I run high test in all of my cars..

Just enjoyed driving and tinkering with my GN more last year. Something different.

Waste of building a car when you cant even afford to drive it IMO.

Well its obvious that the 7-12 bucks a gallon you pay is one of the reasons you don't drive the car.... I mean its just a car, not like your pushing some crazy HP where its not even street-able, no reason you cant even daily it, but yet it sits in your garage. Thats all maybe I'm not like everyone else and like to drive my toy every chance I get when it works. :?

Well obviously, gas money isn't a concern, given the fact that I bought 2 cars within 7 months and 1 is paid off already.

It's streetable, but with the extremely loud exhaust, 3500 stall converter and .640 lift cam, it's not exactly a Cobalt either. Besides that, it was my daily from 02-05 and I racked up 79k miles. It has 83k on it now. Just want to take it easy on the mileage now. I've spent all last summer with my GN, and between work and it, I just didn't have time for my TA. Going try to drive it a little more this year though.

Well it may have the power to weight ratio to trap at 140+, but that doesn't mean it actually will...you know the whole reason these guys are roll racing in the first place, and the entire point of this discussion.

Wait did you seriously just ask someone if their car was running?

Good to hear then Rick.

Bill, actually if you look closer he asked me if mine was running, so I asked him as well... last I knew it wasnt. I can ask him whatever the fuck I want, I dont see any point in building a car if its just going to sit (sorta like mine does when its broke you know...) thus me asking why he doesnt drive it much.

Bill please go to this thread. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=574424
Go ahead and call them pussys for not drag racing, as you at that event TK2K10 (aka the big supra meet) they already have a drag racing day, along with a road racing day which many of them participate in all.. this year roll racing wont be taking place, but the 60-130 will. Next year might be the first year for roll racing at the even and the 60-130 will be taken down.

I dont really care if you make fun of me or whatever, I dont need a running car to prove how big my dick is. Its just a hobby, that currently I am taking a long break from.
