Anyone like to bake?

Postby Lithium Lotus » Sun Jul 05, 2009 1:05 am

Half serious question. For those of you that are really good with customizing, would you be interested in taking up this little project for me [will pay]. The headlights on my Solstice are chrome, and I want to paint them black. Here's a how-to on how to paint them. It involves baking the headlight in an oven to remove the lens from the housing in order to paint them. http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f62/ ... ics-45139/

Looking for someone that can do this and is really good with details [i.e. making sure the lens and housing match back-up 100%, no runs in the paint, and use a little silicone around the edges to keep moisture out].

If interested, I can remove my headlights for you and let you have them for a whole week if needed to do the job properly.

I can bake some badass baklava. I don't have a good headlight recipe though.

Dood I had no idea how easy it was to make. I even taught a real Arab how to make it, and she still effed it up a bit.

$100, that's highway robbery. I'll have to think about it.

yea your right.. 40 dollars in materials (coz i don't use arosol cans)

and 4 hours of my time at 15 per hour isn't worth it to me either! Especially when you add in the risk factor of having to replace one of your head lights.

Do it your self, i'll go back to the 3 transmissions i have to fix this week! :)

Well you could have told you would use actual automotive paint instead of spray cans, would have made more sense that way ;)

I think that was to be implied when he stated...

You quote what I thought.

Also you can ask him to go into some detail about the process before jumping to conclusions.

Between the process and PITA factor, I didn't think $100 was bad using fucking krylon

Whole world is ' I want it done, and done nice, but I want it to be free'
It whistles while it WORKS.

I suck.
