so i have a persuasive speech due soon about why we need to find other sources of energy rather than oil.... i need arguements supporting both sides of the issue

For other sources: We will run out of oil eventually, we depend on foreign oil too much, others sources may be more enviornmental friendly.

Againts other sources: We wont run out of oil in our lifetime, cost lots of $$ to do R&D for new sources, it would take a long time to convert everything over from oil to the new source (alot of people wouldn't want to change).

We've had the ability to make cars that run off lower amounts of oil for so long. Like E85 for example. It's not a new thing. Argue that the technology is there, it is just politics holding us back. Your argument could be that switching to alternate fuels is actually fairly easy to implement, the only hard part is getting dumb fuckers to say "yes", which really shouldn't be a hard thing to do, but people are stubborn.

e85 has been for sale at gas stations in a lot of western states for years

ya.. i'da argued E85 but someone already did that for their informative topic and were not allowed to do the same topic for our other speeches..... and yea the technology is there or could be forced to be there but if the gov't weren't in bed w/ the oil companies we'd be fine.

e85 is the answer for high hp street cars on pump. Its not the answer for the country, it was a quick solution to relieve pressure off big politicians.

hell yea, except that you dump a shit ton of it through a motor to keep afr's where they need to be. Give a lot more room to work the timing but you usually have to go with larger injectors due to the increaded amount needed, unlike gasoline where you don't consume as much.

yup, its about 30% less efficient than gasoline, but it makes up for it in its octane and its cool combustion characteristics. We need a local station. BAD
