not familiar with the SCCA at AutoX, only the PCA. This is just competing against your own time bettering your driving skills nothing else.

ohh isee, thats cool though. the SCCA just has alot more strict classes to keep a level playing field for scoring. the PCA seems cool if its less "pressure" so to speak. do alot of people show up at those usually?

Yes a good deal of people go. PCA does have sound level restrictions. I believe its 90 decibels max at 4k rpms. Also a snell 2000 helmet or better required.
As for nelson, I've only attended their Wonderful Wednesday hosted by Justin's father. < ton of fun if your car can last 30 minute straight beatings.

yea the SCCA has limits for everything, suspension, intake, exhaust, turbos, etc. i think the only thing you can have and still be in the stock class is a catback and i think r-comp tires as long as they're the same size as the stock ones.
it would be awesome to drive at nelson

Fundays are $120 for all day. It isn't a competition but you are out there with other cars. There is a number of heats and I think each goes for probably 20-30 minutes and they keep cycling through them. The only requirement is a DOT helmet.

$120?!?!?!?! fuck that then. im out. i could mod my car for that. way to much money ftl....... its just a couple of people who got a permit and set up cones in a parking lot theres no way it should be that much........would be fun but no way for that much. money better spent elsewhere ftw.

Wrong, Nelson Ledges is road racing.... my 240 did 120+ on the back straight.... its a TRACK.
Autox is $20.

your stupidity shows!
Lets compair value.
25 bux for quaker = I get 5 runs, for me thats less than 1 full minute of racing.
120 bux for nelson (or less if u do half day) = You can see 2 Hours of race time, not to mention it's not just straight lines. You would be so tired from that amount of racing that you probably woudln't be able to run the whole day, even if your american klunker did hold together!
If you can bring your self to do the math, you'll see the difference! Then again, i bet you coudln't out drive me even if it was in my beater, so i guess you better stick to straight lines.

I never timed it, I only lasted 30 min before blowing a coolant line behind my head that ended my day.

There was everything there the day I went to spectate, I'm going to take my Hyundai if I ever go. Slower cars are supposed to go to the side and wave the faster cars by. I want to do it so bad.

yea thats how it was when i went to watch motorcycle racing there. they also had a no passing on the corners rule for the beginners class.
i agree with tony, quaker is not a good value when you really look at the prices of other types of racing/tracks you can do with a car.

SCCA you'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 runs in and you're there all day. Hartville autocross with pca lasts for about 4 hours and you get 8 runs, maybe 10 if time permits. Little prizes if you win but that's it....it's good fun. jump on the
