A Civic will always just be a...Civic. Overweight and slow. This is light, small (just enough room for four), quick, and great looking. I'm going to have a hard time with the Fiesta, Swift, and Mazda 2 coming out. But I think I'll have to get the 500. I was hoping they'd bring the SS version but I'll be happy with a regular Abarth. I'm just glad we're finally getting these small cars. I usually hate FWD but with a small car like this it'll still be fun. SS version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpAFi9nIJVQ

This the not a bastard of any car. The 500 nameplate has been around since 1957. Have you looked at a new Civic lately? The Kia Forte Koup looks better.

That's your choice. I don't get the comparison though or why a Civic was even brought up. A plain Civic (not Si) would be in the 18k range. And I think this car would have the same 0-60 as an Si. But that's not what this car is about.

And that much HP in a small/light car is not as bad as you think. And I guess because it's small it's unsafe? I'd rather be in that Fiat then a Grand Am if I'm in a wreck.

they may be slow but there is at least an aftermarket backing them. what reputable company makes parts for fiats?
