Take back the keys!

My Girlfriends dream car was always an old bug, well last summer she bought it off some guy in boardman and shes obsessed with it. Its a 1969 Autostick (drive just like a 5spd but has no clutch). She has installed some chrome exhaust tips, and a hood spacer kit on it. Shes got a sony head unit, sony 6x9s, sony 4" door speakers and a 10" sub to put it in. Its been parked all winter and we got it outta storage yesterday and i snapped some pics. Oh yeah in about 2 weeks its going to be slammed.. i ordered her a 3 1/2" lowering kit for her birthday...

That is sweet! Be careful with that automatic though. My dad used to have the old hatch with the pancake engine and that automatic. He said he hated it and they were very prone to breaking.

FWIW my dad had an off-white 1969 Bettle with the 4spd new in early 1969. He traded in on his vette in early 1970.

I passed all the compliments onto her. She has alot of new body parts to be put on.. shes getting everything redone and wants to go purple.. slammed on some smoothies.

Interesting. I drove a early 70's 4 speed one before. Probably the worst driving car I've ever driven. It was kinda fun however lol.

yeah its definatly a fun car to drive.. gets so many head turns and people coming up and talking about it everywhere she goes. It definatly isnt a smooth riding car at all but it gets the job done

wow, nice beetle! we have a 1974 sitting in the garage...hasn't run in about 20 years.

as for getting into accidents...my friend has a 1963 bus. no seatbelts, no crumple zones, no safety glass. any accident over 30 mph=instant death.

Did some work on this thing this weekend, installed a new speedo cable, installed some new running boards, and figured out and installed her new cd player and 6x9s. It sounds awesome by the way. The lowering kit will be in towards the end of the week and i got her some "performance" shocks also.
