i dont have a drag car. i have a street car, i drive it all the time. including to and from the track, i dont even own a trailer. i change my slicks at the track because they are soft, and i dont want to wear away the 80 miles of driving to and from the track. i havent even ran my car on my drag radials yet, because i still have slicks. and until they wear out im not going to start using my expensive drag radials up. if these drag radials hook as good as my slicks, which they wont but they will be close, ill just use those. but it really doesnt matter what i use, im trying to achieve the same thing...better traction. theres no point arguing slick vs drag radial at the track, because they use vht at the track to make it stickier, so your car will NEVER hook the same on the street as at the track no matter what tires you use.

The drag car thing wasn't as much for you as it was Nick. IIRC, didn't he say he was having troubles getting his car to the track? Something like it was having trouble starting, and that a 2 1/2 hour drive was way more than it could handle? That's pathetic, what good is your car if it just constantly breaks down/gives you troubles?

No need to take offense that I don't like foxes. Yours isn't bad, the stock ground effects make it actually look pretty good, but I don't like 70s or 80's cars. Just my opinion. It has nothing to do with getting beat, you think everyone takes racing as seriously as you. By the way, if you think the point of me racing you was that I thought I would win.. you are incorrect. I said that to get you to race me. There was a reason for it though, rest assured.

Oh, and as for buying my car, yes, I did. I pay my car payment ($364/mo) ins ($69/mo) and gas. I worked full time as an auto detailer to save up for it. My dad is a cheap ass, he wouldn't buy me shit. He has his own cars. And my mom hates my car, she agreed with my aunt when she said I should clunker it and get a Camry

Yes I go to car shows, and yes I've done Auto X once in my old Camaro. It was fun, but I tore up my tires real bad so I stopped after 1 run, I plan to try it again in the spring. I've never done road racing, I want to and plan to but I need a roll bar before I do. IMO more people should try different sorts of racing, go to a casual Auto X or something, give it a shot and you might be surprised with what else is out there, or you might hate it, never know until you try.

When I said theres more than just racing, honestly how comfortable is your car? Would you ever consider DDing your car, like actual 15 mile commuting? I love my leather, I love my droptop, I love my AC. I know, a lot of people say this is "pussy stuff", but usually the same people who say that are the same ones wishing they had modern features on a hot day or a long drive.

Brett likes the track, I don't. I mentioned why, you still haven't got it. I've said it a bunch of times, it's not what I like. That's all there is to it.

I have a bad starter on my car that gets heat soaked so I have a shitty car.... GOOD ONE... No dude, roll racing with with a RWD V8 is pathetic. I dont feel like driving my car 2.5 hours one way to a track for a couple reasons, like if something breaks HOW THE FUCK AM I GOING TO GET IT HOME?? The car can handle it fine, but i wouldnt do that when there is no reason to. Here's the news, once you start making serious mods to your car, and are racing it, shit breaks or wears out, it happens. Therefore, driving it 2.5 hours away is stupid.

And the tires that I posted are slicks, if you want to be technical about it yes they are slightly different than slicks because they have 3 tiny grooves going down the middle, but take it from me, these perform practically the same because I have ran them and slicks on the same combo in similar weather and there was no difference. The only difference for me is that I can fit a wider tread pattern slick under my car versus the street legal slick.

Look I could car less what you want to do, or how fast your car is, i dont have anything against other forms of racing. shit i dont even have any problems with you I just dont like people making shit up. and i could daily my car no problem, its perfectly comfortable. i dont have air, but i have a sunroof. im sure the droptop thing is cool, but im not into them. im more of a targa top or t-top guy if i was gonna have anything but a sunroof (my favorite). my car could handle a 15 mile commute with ease, it would hardly be warmed up lol. it doesnt even get that bad of mileage on the freeway, around town is different cuz i beat the fuck out of it. after i switch back to fuel injection this winter its just going to be even better. i have a nice stereo, amp, speakers, stock comfy seats not some plastic racing pieces of shit. thats why guys at the track who trailer a gutted car that doesnt idle and has 12 inch slicks bug their eyes out of their head when they see what i run.

I didn't know your car was that much street, I assumed it was at least partially stripped out. I heard it idle, it sounded like a beast so I assumed you'd have the typical big cam miserable driving thing going on. That's pretty impressive you run what you do with full weight and a manual trans. Just curious, have you dyno'd your car? I'm looking forward to the spring when I get my car finished up, definitely want a rematch, and yes from a dig.

I don't really want to say what I paid, but I financed it over a fairly short term so that's why it's so high. I had to, they don't let you finance a car more than 5 years old for longer than my term regardless of mileage

Best of 13.66, I was really babying it off the line though. That was the only run my car didn't light em going into second, something I can't even do on the street

I'll be running a lot faster in the Spring if business picks up this winter, it's been a slow year though.

i have never had my car dynoed, not really a need with the carburetor since i can tune that myself. which i have apparently done a decent job of . when i switch to the stand alone fuel injection system over the winter ill probably tune it myself, then take it to a dyno shop and have it fine tuned. i should get some numbers on this engine then.

The 60' was a 2.3 IIRC, I'll have to check the slip to be sure though.

Depends on how it goes, but at very least a 3200 stall and 3.73 gears. Also getting some 555R drag radials, and a Texas Speed MS3 cam, but I probably won't be getting the cam installed until June when I can cover the $1000 install and tune. Planning on running cam only. The average time cam only is around 11.2-11.3, so I figure I'll be somewhere around there. Originally I was being all super secret with it because I was going with a custom grind 218/232 118 LSA stock idle cam, but if I went that route yearly spring changes were a must and the guy wasn't sure how deep into 11's I'd be, so I'm going with the cam that plenty of people have gotten great numbers with.

Looking forward to seeing the vids after the nitrous. Do you have a cage in your car, or are you expecting to just make just 1 pass? Good luck with your runs though!
