need a little info on cams

Postby tC Manch » Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:56 pm

im pretty ignorant when it comes to cams, and i found a set finally and im wondering if it would be worth the money. they are going for 700 and here are the specs

....................Adv. Dur.....Dur. @ .50...Lift
Crower stage 2: 264/256.....218/214....,.385"/.363"
Stock cams:.....248/240.....212/200....,.385"/.355"

any info on these specs would be appreciated, crower website does not even have estimated gains, and will this cause a large amount of a lobe?

Sounds like they are designed to be bolt on application w/o changing lifters/springs. Might add 10-15hp if your lucky. I don't know how responsive your motor is with n/a mods.

very small difference from stock. like cory said u won't have to change anything in the head, should just work fine with ur current setup... but for 700 bucks, you could def. spend that money elsewhere and get better gains. U probably wont see more than +10hp

Tthen you will end up wanting more and be like FUCK I just spend all this money on n/a mods and I'm tapped out. Keep in mind your car isn't exactly honda hatch light. Just food for thought

very true. car is still under warrenty for another year and im tryin to stay away fom anything that will void it, without bein able to swap out for the oem part in less than a few hours if anything were to happen

supercharger for the tc is about $3500 and only get 190-210 hp. read a lot of reviews on them from s/c tc owners. the ones who have them love them but i guess they havent experience what a $3500 turbo can do. at 8 lbs of boost the 2az has been dynoed at over 260hp safely on stock internals and thats just bolted on no mods and no tune. and ive read a lot of the turbonetics owners bump it up to 12-14psi on stock internals with numbers in the mid-300 range. so when the warrenty is up and when i have enough money thats the route im goin
