hey guys.. i had a blast out there, even tho i had a crap load of issues!
I lost my alternator belt on the starting line, thus throwing off my tune completly until late afternoon when my g/f brought me a replacement.
My slicks expanded durring a burn-out while heating up my slicks & caught my bumper, flinging it off, thank god the guys at the starting line noticed it coz it would have been one hell of an ugly pass if i would have left the line like that.
I couldn't figure out how to launch with those slicks without bogging, it took quite a bit of playing with to get it all figured out.. ended up having to set my launch control at 7000rpm to not bog off the line.
Transmission wouldn't engauge 2nd or 3rd gear when comming off of a 9500 rev from previous gear.. not sure what thats about but i'm gonna have to spend some time figuring that out.. due to letting off to rev down to 8k before shifting, i lost all boost & had to try to build boost after every shift.. really shitty for times but at least i had all day to work on things.
best trap speed on low boost (11psi) was 110mph
didn't wanna mess with my high boost setting (24psi) when i couldn't even get the car down the track correctly yet.

110 is really good on low boost with issues
I feel your pain with finicky turbo cars lol
You'll have a screamer on your hands before you know it

Not bad Tony, From what I have seen you do, you know what the hell you're doing. So fixing those bugs shouldn't be an issue.

Please get him to post on here. 20g won't do 130mph on a FWD without nitrous. Did anyone see him run that fast?
You do realize 150mph is the equivilent of 900whp+, which is about double what anyone has ever gotten out of a 20g. Even more dis-belief if the car was still running the 420a.
Then you have gearing, rpm, tire selection to chose from. You don't just slap some shit together, add a 20g, and run 150mph.

If that's who I remeber talking to, it was actually Hahn or Star performance staaged 420a car.
From when I talked to him he was low 12s at 126 IIRC, but it's been years.

I remember a girl talking about this car a couple years back at D street, ACV was with me that evening.... She was spouting off talk that I didn't quite believe... (if I'm thinking of the same red FWD eclipse) Think she was the same one who wrecked her yellow Neon down there.
Gary I'm sure you know whom I'm speaking of.

I know the car! That 420 is built yo! Custom cams, JE pistons, all ARP studs, Hahn Racecraft portfuler, It was balanced and blueprinted, O-ringed. Running something crazy like 30psi. Bill Hahn did the tune and it made 550whp. Btw 10.80's @ 154mph w/2.1 60ft. The plate said it all 1FSTDSM

Introduce yourself....
550whp and 154mph trap don't add up unless the car weighted ~2000lbs... or the track was on a 25 degree decline.

Nope not a stripped miata! You know which car it is

, and so does your boy Adam

That car on low boost 13psi went 12.83 @ 124-126mph, and you don't think that at 30psi it would go faster!? Not sure what you guy's are using for your info as far as hp to weight ratio. Just an FYI; desk top dyno is not correct!

What hp to weight ratio we are using is one that is ALWAYS used. That common sense one in this case. For instance, since we are talking a GS-T here... Take Tony's for instance 720rwhp on a mustang dyno and around ~3200-3300lbs with driver laid down a 140mph trap... now your claiming to go 154mph on 550fwhp with the same car. Rules of physics apply to both cars equally.... Like I said before, unless this car is gutted/stripped to the brim and shaves around 1000+lbs theres no fucking way with the number you gave us.
Oh yeah, last warning to introduce yourself as well. Not that you care or anything, but your lacking credibility.

Give us some details on the car and we can pick apart your story even easier.
Turbo, motor displacement, slick size, rpm limit, car weight.
I've been dealing with these cars for over 10 years now, I know what works and what doesn't. So please save all your bullshit for AOL Car Talk Chat room. I know what happens when you take 500lbs out of these cars, I know what happens when you take 1000lbs out of these cars, I know what mph you gain with front and rear belly pans, I know what gains are when you take the wipers off. Give us the details, and if they add up, I'll be the first to buy you a beer.
http://www.DSMtimes.org So you're saying your car has trapped 20mph faster than Bill Hahn's full all-out 420a drag car? Keep in mind Hahn's times were ran with nitrous as well.
Let me help you:
http://dsmtimes.org/details.php?ID=641And before anyone talks shit, I'd like someone on this board to trap faster than me on street tires. It's not very easy to go 140mph up top when you only have one gear to put the power down in.

Gary, I asked him to introduce himself 3 times.... and warned him. Its as easy as "Hi my name is Cory,my car runs 10.5@170mph with only 600rwhp"

Well if it is E,(which I doubt) he could have spoke up. No need to hide, instead they seemed to be telling falses or just antagonizing... Either way it was annoying.
They should have just said, instead of claiming what they had no proof of.
EDIT: NO it wasn't Emanuel I just spoke with him.

Sabo, forgive me If I'm wrong but I thought your trailblazer was in the low 112's-115's all last year? I don't recall EVER hearing about a 120+ run. I could have just forgot, post these slips if you don't mind.
Also you are wrong, no one here was starting ANY drama until Gary came in and started making fun of guys TRYing to do better at the track like the usual asshole he is. The some unnamed guy starts shooting out numbers/times/with NOTHING to back it up with, at least what he was willing to offer.
As far as your talk with these high-hp supras/vipers/mustangs running shit times, most likely they were NOVICE drivers also trying to better themselves or just having fun (like its supposed to be). The same can be said about ANY camero/t/a guy that is inexperienced at the track. There will always be these types of drivers, just go down to QCR, I'm sure you have seen fast cars run shit times due to driver.
There are a ton of fucking retarded 6 speed (not auto) full weight supra's/vipers that have gone mid to low 8's. Cutting 1.3 60ft's with only low 1000's HP. So I'm not sure were your getting off there but that statement you made was extremely ignorant.
You do realize these cars are insane, and to pilot them takes an amazing amount of skill. Especially the manual trans cars, autos tend to stay in the groover easier, over all are easier to drive, more consistent, personally the pussy way to race a car IMO.
No body is in here bench racing, we are using the given facts about certain cars that clearly show what they are capable of, not speculating.
MPH does tell all as well. Pretty much every run I had at quaker was between 104-107mph (this seemed temperature dependent) with times between 13.00 and 14.00's, it all came down to the 60ft. Norwalk was a prime example where I had 5 straight passes at 109mph with times between 12.88 and 13.20 once again! It all came down to my 60ft whether the car went quicker or not.
MPH is not an EXACT science, but its a hell of a lot better measurement than just an E.T. Because as you should know, the whole 1/4mile is really just 60ft.
Don't take this as a personal attack either, thats not what it is at all.
