Nearly everything I put on my car serves a purpose.

At the AutoX on Sunday my pitiful FWD 106whp Hyundai was consistently only about 10 seconds off time with the best times of the day.

I thought real automotive enthusiasts would jump all over the chance to race their cars for only $20. I guess all the ricebuckets and unreliable DSM's can only look cool in parking lots and racing on the freeway.

To each their own.

LOL whoa whoa, look here cone dodger! I wasn't there but generally in auto-x there's nobody next to you! So where do you get off claiming you "raced your car for $20"?

Maybe one day you'll actually take that turd out and race it for real. You bash people for sitting in a parking lot yet your down with driving around in one at low rates of speed! Props to you!

Drag your KDM to the drag strip or out to Nelson Mr. Race Car Driver! :) See you there!

Car is not build for auto x

Plus the though of replacing my tranny is why I do not track my car or auto x it. I do not have the cash to replace a tranny that is rated at 250hp, when I have over 300 at the crank you do the math.

If I had a six speed believe me I would be at the track every weekend again that is 3500 that I do not have.

I do not race on roads eigher, I was at Quaker and ran a 13.8 what is the point of taking there every weekend to shave a few tenths off maybe?

I can chime in here.

Tony he does have a slight point, it was actually nice to see him driving his car he was the only member on here besides Hillie that came. Not saying everyone has to come, but it is a lot of fun and pretty damn safe. Its like time attack racing, your racing against your own time, which is recorded every run. Honestly I have road raced, and I feel that auto-x is much harder. Its tougher to be smooth due to how tight it is, its very easy to mess your line up as well.

Dave my car is making more power than yours through the stock trans (02 had the smallest width gears of ANY year), and STOCK clutch with 111k miles on it. Change your fluids when they are supposed to be done with quality oil, don't launch your car and your fine. From reading nasioc regarding WRX tranny failures I really believe its abuse at the drag strip that causes most of these issues. IE the rounding off of 1st gear while launching... Your right our trannies are glass boxes, however its the shock loading such as a hard launch that seems to kill them. This does not happen in road, or auto-x racing. I do agree with you on drag racing the WRX, its just not worth the risk of destroying the trans, exactly the reason I didn't launch mine. I went got my trap and that was that.

To the headlights why? I don't get it personally, I don't even get it on stock Audi's/Saab's. Now a projector conversion on the peanut head lights is a different story.

I guess our definition of racing differs. You do know that at Nelson there are rarely any spots to open it up to get over AutoX speeds anyway.

I've been the one sitting in the parking lots, I felt like a true ricer.

Drag racing isn't my idea of fun.

Have fun being a ricer.

yes thats my civic.

the only way to go HID's in a civic legally, is to use projector. Those are TYC projectors. Not some knock-off shit!!

And the mirrors look way nicer than the stock dumbo ears, so if that makes me a ricer, then fuck yea. I'm a huge one and i love it!
