Dave & Eds - Potential sport compact/ youth event?
Hey guys, I just want to run this by you all, as we (ACV) will be able to have some say in the development of bringing a ‘new crowd’ to the Dave & Eds event. (auto events.com)
If you haven’t’ been to this ‘mega’ swap meet / auto event in years past, then you might not know the magnitude of its size.
In short, we are looking at bringing some vendors in, and a couple clean local custom cars to show off in the main grandstand area. Basically, think of it has the starting point of a larger in the event in the future, right now we are getting in on the ground floor with an event that draws 40,000 attendees. So, for now we are going to test the waters with a soft trial event. But, we want to support having a nice yearly show for our generation/style of vehicles in the future.
---
My questions are, what do you guys think?
- Would you come, would you want to have a car show, or just hang out with your car in a cool environment?
- What you want in to the swap meet for free that day in addition to heaving your car parked in the ‘main vendor/show area‘?
- Would you want to be able to sell used parts, especially if we gathered enough like minded car people?
- Dave & Eds is all weekend, but should the day we bring cars in be just on Saturday, or all 3 days?
---
Just want to kick this around, we already planning on couple local companies that can provide good work on your cars - to give people something to check out. I will be there with my tour trailer and a couple cars myself. I know we already have a few people interested in being a featured vehicle…so there will be room for a couple featured cars, and then we will be able to have ea main parking area for everyone.
My initial thoughts are, get some cool vendors and displays - and just throw a real causal ‘meet’. It wont really be a ‘car show’, but I will be easier for rollin and rollout, and you might not have to pay for admission to the swap meet and all the fun that comes with that

**New Info

Ok, here are a few more details, sorry for making this last minute! But, its a real-laid back test event, this will build on what I do next year.
Dave & Ed's is all three days of this weekend; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you have a custom car or a simple clean daily ride, you can bring it out, as long as its something nice to show! This dosnt mean it needs to be a 'show car', just dont bring a beat up,...beater

TO GET IN: If you arrive in a car you want to be on display while you hangout/walk the fairgrounds, and park in the 'display' area, you will get in for free that day - any passengers will need to be the low admission fee. Use the main gate at the fairgrounds, to get in, just say you are parking in the Aaron Vaccar's Display Area - ACVmailorder.com might have a little display too, but I will give the gate instructions on my name as the code.
THE TIME: The event is open all day each day, and usually clears out around 5pm though. I originally wanted to organize everyone to come on Saturday, as I think its the busiest, but any day is fine! I will be there each day from the morning, until around 5pm. Mabey you guys might want to use this thread to post when your going, so people know when to all show up!
THE LAYOUT: If you dont know about the swap meet/car corral, that is its own world, I cant explain that lol. The area we are in, is in front of the grandstands (the paved area). My tour/ACVmailorder.com will have a big tent, next to my trailer in front. We will also be with 2 other big tractor trailers, National Tire and Battery, and some other misc stuff in that specific area. I will probably go early and chalk some parking spaces so you guys know where to go!
