i give up with the "rice killer". the "pops" you were hearing was his car hitting the rev limiter when it was spinning, which would of been 1st-4th. That car was a 10 second car. with slicks on it and nick having some seat time in it im pretty confident that he would of made a 10 sec pass in it.

Its not nick he could drive it pretty good its just even with a slick it wouldn't hook. The slicks would be to skinny. if it was tubed out and If it had some nice fat slicks then maybe a 12 or 11. its hard to say. But I think with big slicks i bet it would break.( not just because its a honda) heck my car with slicks would maybe be ok for a few passed just because it auto and im only launching a around 2400ish. But if i was launching a over 3500rpm (like most turbo imports do). I would break with slicks. It shot flames out of the tail pipe when it backfired haha. . Im not talking shit about it because anyway u put it his car was fast period. except 1/8 from a dig on the street just because traction. The pops were deffinantly backfires from hitting the limiter. Hell the cops showed up in the middle of duck creek rd because people down the street people thaught it was gun shots. Even when his car was broke and needed rebuilt the first time he took me for a ride and it smoked like a bitch but still was pretty fast.

Did u still not hear me?? I said not all imports are slow. It just depends on how much $ u got simple as that. I know there is alot of imports out there faster than me. So what. They probaly got twice as much money in there car tho. Ok its starting to be like domestic :sissies: imports for real

If that was the case, then why didn't he race me instead of hiding in North Jackson all last summer? :pat:

I thought he wanted to race on the street but you wouldn't run him?

I might be thinking of another race though... To long to remember.

So yeah...anyhow

To Mr. Riceklr:

Look dude, I was busting your balls; not because I do not realise that that you are no longer running the stock 305, but because I wanted to give you a little shit on the comment towards brett....for no reason other then my own entertainment. I was refering to the engine that came stock, that has the gauge sensor on that nifty little 'L' elbow behind the dizzy, and the sensor on the side of the drivers side block that is a pressure switch for the ecu (no oil pressure = no start)

I realize that you don't need either (although I mean you should monitor oil pressure), and that you have a 350 swapped in....I get it, perhaps the lame jab got the worst of you.

2nd, depending on what year the block and 4/2 bolt, the SBC can fail earlier than some imports. Not to say that it isn't one of the most versatile hobby engines and it has a following like no other...etc etc. It all works out. I'm not brand loyal to ANYTHING, and have been around or had my hands in quite my share of fastness.

To think that imports tap out at 12s is laghable. Giving 8 sec claims on v8s is aswell. I think it's its either a high 5 or a bottom 6 right now for the 10" tire crowd. 7-8s DOT crowd. And this goes for all makes and models. Somewhere, someone has a fast one. You can make anything hook if you try hard enough and it doesn't always take $. You can tout the 'build it bigger' thing, and yes, it CAN yeild sick #s with less work, but there's plenty reason to try the smaller engines....if not the fun factor of being the underdog. FWD 4cyl layout is cake to work on, minimal drivetrain loss, and can be packaged easily under 2700lbs. Not all are fwd either  There's quite a few here that will surely change some minds/opinions this summer. Different strokes for different folks is all.

It's all in good fun. I for one am all up for running whomever come summer; be it win or lose, I don't care. But I do prefer to keep it at the track if I can (even though I've been remiss the past 2 yrs hah). You can sample the boosted 4cyl.....or try your luck with the no-hookstang with its oversized squeeky alternator thinger  although slicks are #1 this year haha. There's plently faster and plently slower. Even though we can be dicks *hint* me *hint* there's good people on here. Just get off the high horse on things, get's old fast.

It was still fast but not running right. I dont ever remember him saying he had it running 100% ever. It had ALOT of money in it and only ran a 13 sec but it spun alot so who knows what it would run hooking up ,but u can only fit like a 215/40/15 on a honda unless u tube it out. Plus he only drove it for a little whilr before he sold it. If all that money went into a RWD car with a V8 he would have been running well over 550hp and would of had better luck with it. That car ALWAYS had bugs in it. From dumb little shit like high idle to a spun bearing. Like i said 4 cyl's dont like alot of HP and cant take the abuse a V8 can.

you my friend, are an idiot.

another great example of lack of knowledge.

hm... call me crazy but i don't think u mentioned anything in there about anything being stock. hence my comment.

What i was trying to say is give a stock V8 a cam and heads and get around 375hp and give a stock 4 cyl a turbo or head and cam and get 375hp or whatever. the V8 can take it better with no problem. But for the 4 banger thats alot of power. STOCK is the keyword. I mean bottom end of corse, because most performance heads and cams are after market. U can put a good rotation assembly in a 4 cyl to be good whatever you want it to be. But same with the v8. It just all depends.

A weighted shift, it effectively puts more weight behind your shift throws.
