In a blow through setup what is there to worry about? As long as the maf is in a straight section of pipe there is no turbulence to worry about. The maf should read exactly the same. The mass of air coming in the intake is the same mass of air that is blowing through the intercooler pipe where the maf is located. Mass is conserved. Granted there are no boost leaks, but that should be a given.

I've seen pleanty of pictures of stubby intake draw-thru cars as well and I have no possible explanation of how their setups run correctly when clutching out from a stop, but I know from my personal experience with testing various(4) lengths of tube, the one with length is the only one that works right.

Like I said, i am no expert in turbo theory or fluid dynamics but I have a huge suspicion that it could be the stitty-ness of my turbo design. It's old. I'm sure that the design of the impeller blades, and how they cut through the air immediately in front of them has an affect on the surrounding air.

I really need to get off the damn computer...

Nice ride man..! Real clean. Swear I seen it before parked in the RT tire parking lot a few times, only a few ones that nice around here, anyhow welcome nice to here someone the actually works on and knows about their own ride, a lot of the younger crowd who have money in these parts have shop built jobs, no offense to any of you on here that do guys.

I got 3 years into a mechanical engineering degree between YSU and Akron (go zips....f*c#ers screwed me on credits)

Just think whoever gets this SS after me will have no idea it went consistant 12.30s

See my cold pipe is not even connected in the pic if you look closely.

you must learn I'm not a very serious person.

The air is being pulled through, not blown through when the MAF is infront of the compressor. This leads to the air being much less turbulent if at all.

If your having a stall issue when its hooked up as a pull through it could be your non recirculated BOV.

Blow through setup only worry is turbulent airflow. A decent piece of straight pipe before the MAF, along with some honeycombs before the maf sensor is the best fix for that.

The turbulence in the draw-thru is created by the turbo itself. It creates a "swirl" effect on the air that it is inducing.

The trouble with the maf piping only comes in when I clutch out from a stop(put the engine under load) so I doubt the bov has anything to do with it. I wish I had a spare Z32 maf to fuck around with. Maybe this particular one has it's ultra gay French sensitivity switch flipped on causing it to be ultra sensitive to turbulent airflow. :D

Reading owns me sometimes.

Well when your about to stall what are your a/f's? Are you watching them? If they are richining up I'd suggest your BOV might be slightly leaking around idle, or somewhere in the transition from vacuum to atmospheric pressure as you start to pull away from a stop.

Yeah, it'll flash 12ish, then overcompensate lean to like 16s and try to die.

Seemed like a bov issue :?

Tom one of the plugs under my throttle body was popped off, that's why it wouldn't hold idle, stumbled, and ran like hairy scrotum. Also as you saw when I was leaving my IACV tube was leaking mass air past because I failed to clamp it before I went out driving. Like I said I went back over everything and clamped it all down right. It runs perfectly now besides richer than it needs to be at WOT. I'll get FPR or something shortly. I'm kind of short on Deniros right now.

I'm going to go and drive it right now...

Cory what kind of power are you making? You must have some SERIOUS traction issues with whatever it is with the kind of power that RB's make. These things are so light and tossable it's kind of frightening. I'm fully not prepared for it after driving almost 4 years on a stock, non LSD 240 lol.

Haven't made anything more than 383whp at 14psi 5500 rpms with no timing yet before we ran into issues last year... cars sitting right now waiting to be tuned. My tuner is FARR too busy, hopefully he will have time soon.

Yes, with the vac line to the regulator off and the engine running set pressure to 43psi, once set attached hose, make sure you get a NON fluid filled gauge. Then enjoy non richness!
