I got the D40 a while back, finally learned how to use the thing purrty well, and since money bags said he needs idea's for christmas/b-day and he can't figure this out on his own, LOL, I was wondering what len's ya'll used for what, and why you got them/it.

Just wanted a few opinion's before I sent him out on shit that wasn't any good. LOL =)

I bought a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 HSM lens. It auto focuses and meters on the D40, and is perfect for low light situations.

I have a tamron 18-200mm I believe works really well and give a nice range

What are ya'll's main subject's for your shoots?

Just the car's or do ya'll do other things, I know I've seen some other things from Dave, but not Nick?

What I am getting at is, people have len's for every fucking thing out there, butterfly's & Dragon Fly's and another for Spiders... lol Do you use those for pretty general photo's as well...?

I use that sigma for everything. Works great all around. But I bought it to shoot bands mainly, or any other dark situation. I like night shots.
