All good minus that front bumper  I don't know why people insit on hacking up their nice OEM front to show off their oversized FMIC..... If my prone to over-heating fat I6 with pusher e-fans can keep cool yours can too.

I noticed the MT's, what have you run with her?

Nah man, you don't know DSM and their overheating problems. People custom fab deflectors to get air back towards their radiators all the while having spal fans pushing air in. Any more air that can hit the radiator or FMIC on a dsm is necessary.

theirs no room to do pushers due to the oil cooler, i had 2 pullers but the heat from the turbo and manifold completely destroyed the one. so this was my only option. combined with the shimmed hood its workin out so far but still gets pretty hot idling on a summer day. believe me i prefer the OEM look but theirs too many problems associated with it

ohh and their not M/T's, their racemasters on weld rims. the last time i went to the track i only got 1 run. reaction .199, 60' 1.929, 330 5.509, and 1/8th 8.52 @83mph. i guess their limit was 8.7 something to run without a helmet so i didnt get anymore runs in

When I said pushers I meant that as a bad thing. pullers > pushers.

I just see that it has been done in crazily setup DSM's just fine thats all......

Nice time btw, get a helmet next time! So it actually put down 400hp or are you guessing?

Well, judging by the 1/8th mile ET and MPH it's def not 400, and going by the 60' it's hooking. Stout car though, prolly getting close to 300 at the wheels.

Judging by those #'s, I'd have to guess your setup isn't that crazy, or in regards to overheating in that matter. I had an issue when I first did mine, BUT it was easily remidied by a 14" SPAL slim puller on the inside of the rad, along with a 12" slim DERALE on wired on the stock A/C switch. With just the single fan, the car would get hot sitting, with the additional I never ever ever had a heat issue once. It also had a crappy stock radiator. I was trying to move air through a 100% stock 1gb laser nose with a 27x9.5x3" hunk of buschur aluminum hung infront of it, along with a trimmed but intact bumper support.

I both dailied the car, ran faster times than above, and took quite a few 10+hr roadtrips without a hitch. Good fans at proper voltage + a fluidyne = W1N. It's not like we live in Texas.

It can be done

Nice car btw!

top pic you can see he's running same side inlet/outlet intercooler and the oil cooler is stuffed way over to the right out of the way
second idk what his set up is
third, all 91 and up....didnt have factory oil coolers. I just worked with what i have stock cooler/lines/radiator...I tried to make room by eliminating my power steering cooler but it wasnt enough... trust me dude, my car sat on a lift for 2 yrs and i mocked up the front end and tore it apart dozens of times to realize shit just wasnt gonna fit. then after a few hot summer days overheating in drive throughs i just did what i could. I wanted to build a car with some balls so i did, it doesnt break my heart any if i have to cut it up
Kevin kwiatkawski (world record holder FWD DSM) did the same thing back before he ran the 1 piece front end, i tried finding a pic online but had no luck, everything has been updated to his new look

91 and later still ran an oil cooler. It was just a sandwich style. Your ET and mph are still reflective of the power it's making. So it spins a small amount in 1st from a 5k dump. The rest looked like a hook. DSMs love to dump fuel into black clouds behind you and tq steer when loose; that car went pretty straight.

I refuse to believe a mid 13 sec DSM should have a cooling problem if done correctly. It has nothing to do with what you want to stick infront of it, or remove behind it; it's how much air you can pull through it with fans. Whatever your setup, something is wrong.

Not trying to be a dick, but it ain't my first rodeo

Tom speaks the truth. 83mph trap in the 1/8 good for 300ish whp in your car. For instance I was trapping 87mph with only 277whp in the 1/8th....

There is really no reason that car should be overheating... even a single factory puller would be more than enough to keep it cool. my car runs 170 all day long even on a 90+degree/humid day on 38degrees of timing with my pullers.

Its like tom said, u can slam the front of it with all the air u want, until ur pulling the air through it; its not gonna do a damn thing. Def look into making a puller work on that, i'm not familiar with how the lasers are setup inside, but i cant see why u wouldn't be able to fit at least one little fan on the other side of the radiator. If heat is a factor in that area, just spend a little extra cash and buy an aluminum fan.

In terms of the slip times u posted, def a high 12/low 13sec car. I'm assuming with u in it, that car weighs somewhere around 3000lbs... sooo give or take 260-300 whp based on those numbers.

ohh im not too worried about the critics out there, the 400hp is dsm links estimated log, other than that i have no proof. tech 386 just rounding off. Im just defensive about what ive done to the car, everything was built and tuned by me minus all machine work and internal assembly on the top and bottom ends. i dont have the equipment to do all that. Just did what i could with what i have, no credit cards, loans, or borrowed money went into my car. Just my own hard earned paychecks buying one part at a time for 2 yrs until i had everything to do initial start-up...this was still my first season with only 5 track days t/t and break-in...still lots to be done this winter Including lsd, FP turbo and manifold, external waste gate and water methenol injection. goal is to make my tranny explode next season...

cool beans dude  thats alot of work, money and retuning for 1 winter!!!! who's financing all this stuff to be done for you? concidering your looking at a major engine overhaul, some kind of management, larger injectors, pump, turbo/supercharger? piping exc. 10-12psi does no good without a good flow rating, air/fuel mixture, and build to handle it all... you should prob lean towards goin N/A with a stroker and flat top pistons....I watch these old school 5.0 guys run 5's and 6's all the time doin it. or you can go ebay and hope for the best but good luck

I went out and checked the power and amperage being drown for my fan.... it was only putting out 12v a once and a while and the amperage kept goin up and down...changed the relay and still no change... so i found a random unused 12v wire with the ignition on and tied into that and its running normal 8) dont know what that wire was for but it even stays on for 10sec after the key is turned off.. thanks for the motivation to dig deeper into whats goin on...to bad i dont have a replacement bumper
