HIN - Columbus - May 31st.

Events that we will be attending

HIN - Columbus - May 31st.

Postby DSMu4ia » Tue Apr 08, 2008 12:14 pm

A bunch of us Cleveland guys will be going down to HIN Columbus to fuck some import models...as that's about the only thing decent at the show.

BUT BUT BUT...

The main attraction and main purpose of going is the street racing afterwards (not related to HIN AT ALL). It's a once a year thing that goes on, Cleveland vs Columbus basically. We do it breakfast run style between 3am and 6am.

Lots of vette's, LS1's, bikes, etc.

Lots of money making opportunities if your junk is fast. :)

You will see more 600hp+ cars racing this night than ANY other time.

Who's in?
96 GST - Formerly 721whp :(

Back to 300whp stock-ish setup.

03 Blk/Blk Z06 - Project 500whp/500wtq - See you in Spring 2009.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Detroit Electronic Music Festival is that weekend I just realized. Looks like I'll be skipping on the racing and attending the music event.

If something changes, I'll post.

Nope, called it "bearing failure and turbine damage". Precision is saying a foreign object(s) went through my turbine blades.... I do see HOW thats possible w/o damage to my engine/head, and what size object could fit through there yet not destroy the wheel itself?! I don't know...

I don't really see any damage to the wheel... unless its hiding below the housing...

Sucks ass for sure, moral of the story don't buy your turbo until your car is basically ready to run to take full advantage of its warranty... this is anal raping, and I don't like it.

I'm gonna ask AMS today again if I can call and personally talk to the guy who took it apart to get a better description, also find out what I might have done to caused it in his mind, and how to prevent it from happening again.

thank you, thats how I feel as well. I personally feel the bearing(s) failed, causing the shaft play allowing the blades to hit the housings, thus maybe a tiny bit of damage on the blades... which ultimately was caused by the bearings failing...

I'm gonna talk to the man at Precision myself. They quoted me $1250 for repairs + shipping, so basically $1300. The fucker costs $1619 brand new..... If I knew I'd be paying this much in the end I might have well as dropped 3g's on a 47-88....

hate to say it, but you should have went journal bearing just due to the rebuild costs!

btw, i hear you have a class with Eric & Devin, (Eric has a boosted black civic that i helped him build, and then tuned for him)

actually, im back to 42r, i forgot to tell u =P so the dream was actually quite real. I talked to a lot of guys about the procharger kits they sell and they end up needing quite a bit of modification when running more than 10-12 psi so i decided not to fuck with all of that. I'm in the middle of setting up something with jay at domination to rig me up some pipe.

i'll have the motor back together in the next two weeks, just waiting for the heads and pistons to come in and i can throw her together :D
