Well i had a pretty productive sunday afternoon. I've been stock piling the parts for my new turbo setup since the old one was sold.

Before Noon:

After i finished up around 5pm:

I just have to pull the runners off individually and weld up all the seams, then i'll be blasting it and ceramic coating it so it's all perdy.

:)

the comressor section will sit 1.5 inches from the under side of the hood, and the hot side will be even further. This turbo was definatly harder to fit than the last unit!

Looking sexy Tony, I cannot wait for spring break! Your getting my excited for summer.

thanks tom.. means a lot! :)

cory as far as the wastegate placement goes. It will be comming out of the collector. I'm planning to finish the downpipe before i finalize planing for the wastegate placement due to fitment issues. I would like it to be under the downpipe but don't wanna cut into the collector and have it end up not fitting. more to be added in the upcomming days.

It's basicly garrett's version of the sc61
It's still a t3 footprint, turbine .82a/r, compressor .70 trim housing, .60trim wheel

61 lbs/min 781cfm
HIGH FLOW 76 TRIM stg3 wheel

supportable of 600whp

I only plan to push it to about 450ish whp on pump gas, i'll probably pickup some race fuel at some point and push it up to about 550ish. I'd just really like to see this car nail a 10sec pass. It's been a goal i've had for a while. Still work in progress.

Nice, it looked like a 61ish.

Well if you make what you want on pump and drop a 1.6-1.7 60ft I'd say a 10 second pass might just be up your alley given the weight of the car. Should be a highway stomper for sure!

i was able to build 12lbs of boost sitting still last year with my computer, i hope i can still do that, it will make launching fun with the slix on!

What half shafts are running, and how resistant are your gears from stripping on a hard hook?

stock axles, i've always used stock axles. logic is if soemthing's gonna give, i'd rather it be a free axle with 15min worth of work than something more expencive. I've only snapped 3 in the last 6 years of serious abuse.

honda transmissions are next to bullet proof. (mine has an OBX LSD in it)

pulled a 1.8 but there is still some room for improvement.. things were a mess last year.

i somewhat doubt those axels are gonna hold long when launchin on slicks with 450+ wheel... though like cory my knowledge of hondings are limited. I just have a hard time seeing a econ car with strong enough axles/case to take the beating over and over.

none the less im excited to see the finished product this year, i plan on goin to quaker a lot. hope u and cory can join me!

might be hard to believe but the only time that the axle's actually broke what my fault. I dumped the clutch.

As long as i preload, i've had no problems. I've got a video of me snapping an axle from dumping the clutch (on the line at QCR lined up with tom's brother scott), it sheared that shaft right off. It never seems to be the joints.

hmm thats impressive, i figured even the second gear shift would be enough to snap the stock axles if u didn't turn a bit of tire

When you say pre-load tony you are referring to a quick slip of the clutch, not slipping the clutch while sitting still correct?

I will join in as much as I can granted my machine is working.

I side step it so that i'm partaly letting off the clutch (not enough to fully engauge) while applying enough brake to hold the car still (not solid & e-brake helps, just not enough to set off the red light ) and hold the throttle down into the anti-lag.

It's all just to take the slack out of the drive trane so that there is pressure applied to everything that is about to move so that there no jerk to anything.

If you watch my car real close as i stage at the light, you'll actually see it squat a little as i preload it right before the light goes green. I can feel it in the car but the only way i know it actually squats is because i've watched my video's and was looking for it.
