What's up fellas? Like my buddies Eric and Mike said, I met a few of you at the supernats in boardman over the summer. I remember I couldn't quit slobberin over the wheels on the blue wrx haha. I have a 96 talon TSI that I picked up a year ago and have done a few things that I could with the shitty student budget I'm on. Here's a few pics of the nickel and dime machine...

Welcome. I'm in the same boat as you, broke student... I have a 95 GSX that is under construction paid for by selling my GST. Hope to be dropping my engine in next wed. So if you're around Canfield or Boardman anytime next week, feel free to hit me up and help w/ the install!

EVOIII 16G, Walbro 255 fuel pump, 550cc injectors and way to much fuel haha. The T25 decided to get an inch of shaft play so he went with the 16G. Car also had a 3 inch turbo back, external dump tube, front mount and pipes. He will be tuning the car sometime before spring hopefully. It should be a real ignorant car next season!

Thats awesome, hopefully all goes well. An inch of shaft play.. ha, I take it the turbine wheel took a ride out the exhaust as well? That is an AWD TSI right?

We're gonna have an almost identical setup, should be interesting at the track this summer.

I'm gonna be bolting on a 16g also, and I'm running 560's and an evo9 pump (190lph). What are you using for fuel control?

As of right now I don't have any fuel control...sucks haha. I have a few options I'm weighing right now, If I can pick up an eprom ecu for cheap I may go dsmlink. If i'm not I have a gm maf that I may use with the new gen2 translator or just go with the simple s-afc. I'd love to go link but I don't have the 700-800 bucks layin around at the moment haha.

SAFC will be fine since the injectors are not much bigger, but look into a keydriver chip too. Its I think its $375 for the chip and EPROM ecu chipped. I have it and it's amazing.

Yeah I've looked into that, you still need an afc with that right? But it can setup your injector size and I think you can have a 2-step installed as well. I almost had an eprom off my one buddys 95 gsx but he sold it to the junkyard before I got a chance to ask him for it.

I dont think you need the AFC w/ that chip. (But I could be wrong.) Sounds like the 3 of us will have about the same setups! I have the big 16g, 190 walbro, safcII, shep racing stage 1 tranny, 6 bolt swap (bored 20 over w/ 1g rods and 2g pistons w/ the 90 oilpump housing for the external oil cooler), FMIC, and some work done to the head.

You DO NOT need an afc with the chip. The chip tunes it perfect. Everyone that has an AFC and installs the chip zero's out the settings. I have my chip set for my 560's, I have my cas signal inverted (6bolt), 2 step, no phantom knock... etc. Its wonderful.

Yeah, I'm jealous of the 6 bolt though haha. I figured I'll do the swap when I blow the 7 bolt so until then. I should pick up some arp studs though. How much power do you want to be pushing? I'm looking for around 275-300whp with a tune hopefully.

Damn, that does sound pretty great. I was looking for something I could do like a reflash (wish our cars could do that) without worrying about all the tuning bs. The price of the chip and eprom alone is worth it since you'd spend almost that much for an afc and even more if you were to buy like an msd disII. I think I may be sold haha.

Hell, I just hope the damn thing runs once I get it all together! Haha... I don't really have a HP goal at the moment. If it runs 300 hp after everything is in, great, if it runs higher, that would be awesome, and if it runs lower, no big deal... i'll be broke so it won't matter that I'd like to go more....

Yeah I'd say you will have yourself a pretty solid setup once all is installed.
