Car Decision???

So if you dont know already I currently have a 90 Tsi that I am building. Basically this it what is going this morning my mom throws out this offer(I live at home and she thinks talons are big POSs). She basically says i have to keep my Tc but if i sell all my parts and my talon i can use the money as a down payment on an evo and she will cosign for it :?
So now i really dont know if i should finish my project or scrap and go with something newer and better. I have an easy 5000 in parts right now just laying around, not to mention an entire spair 6 bolt long block. Major detering factor right now is all the rust repair my talon needs plus i need about 7-9Gs to completely finish my setup.

A new Evo? But you'd still have a Tc? I would just do it unless you enjoy working on the Talon THAT much. Personally I would think you could have more fun driving an Evo than working on a rusting Talon. Plus, mom would be happy to not have parts all over the place for the "POS". Many here will probably disagree because they love Talons for some reason. Nothing beats having a new car with a warranty. What's insurance going to be like though?

weigh the monthly bill (payment/insurance/fuel), if you go with the new vehicle.. you have to pay it ever month no matter what.

If you have a project thats paid for in cash.. then if you have a month that you fall short of cash.. no big deal, your project just waits a month for the next step.

something to concider.

Are you planning on living at home until the car is paid off? Because if so, go for it. If you plan on getting your own place anytime soon... fuck that.

...why don't you just get rid of the talon and the TC? Theres half the evo paid off.

your mom sounds like shes trying to get you to live there forever lol... anyway when your parents hate your car; you know your doing a good job! i dont understand the whole senario... is the tsi paid off? why not build the tsi (the way you want) rather than dish out 2x-3x the price for a stock evo... just my .02

yah paying more for a stock car I dont get, unless your getting a hella of deal on the evo, and you can pick up cheap parts which really dosent mix with the word evo I dont think...

Ya i wanted to get rid of both the tc and talon for an evo 9 not a brand new one but i just got the tc a year ago so my cosigner says i'm keeping it lol whatever. Yes the talon is paid off i paid 900 for it. I also have about half of everything i need for it to be finished.Idk just would be nice to not have to fix my car every week even though i would ave two payments.

Or you could think of it as paying for a stock car that you don't have to put money into in order for it to be a good car. But some people just have to "waste" money on extensive modifications. (Which also will get you no return when you go to sell) All in how you look at it.

Join the EVO crew...dude as soon as mine gets outta the shop...u drive it. Then deside wht u want...ya the tsi is sick...especially when its finished! But an evo 8 or 9...i mean u can find an evo 8 with mods for $18-$22 still with 30k miles or less! Evo 9 youll pay around 24-29 depending whts done to it and mileage! Lets go car huntin this week lol! On our way back from Buschur!

ya that doesn't make sense... dan dont listen to dan killa (lol) you have to figure your driving an evo with $30,000 invested into it above the cost of the car. Thats just like saying drive my Trans Am and then go buy a bone stock one... blah, its your call though... stop over sometime and ill take you for a ride in a real car when the weather breaks

I'm sure he doesnt want to ride/drive your SRT-4.

Buy the EVO, I get the keys handed me to one every so often. And it truly is an amazing car. I fucking love it.
