base tune at 21-22 psi?! I take it that means they finished the street tune and are now ready for the race gas?

If they plan on maxing that turbo out, they will need enough spring in the waste gate for 40psi or so. So I'm ASSuming they have a large blue and a small blue spring in the WG, giving them 20-21psi base.

Brent over at JMFab did the header and most of the fab on this car, turned out nice...

that is a very nice piece.

I just didn't understand the meaning of base tuned or w/e...... is that mean hardly tuned? just on pump?

EDIT: I would so rock the Hello Kitty lmao!

We can throw ALOT of boost at our motors on pump gas. Say 30psi or so. 20-24psi is "base" tuned and is usually tuned VERY safe.

I don't push my cars on pump gas, I like doing 180mph pulls. Others may differ.

Gotcha not I, race gas is too expensive, I try to keep mine as close to a daily as I can... granted its running lol.

Base tune meaning 10.0-10.8 AFRs on low boost (21ish PSI). :) The tune is actually very safe. Good enough to break my 255s loose in first and second. I'm having Brad Brooks tune it shortly.

Brad coming to you or you going down to Peter's shop?

Lucky for you, you are letting THE BEST 4g63 tuner tackle your tuning. None of those Buschur hackjobs.

Brad is a master with the AEM, I have mine configured to do all sorts of cool shit that most people don't know about. Pump/Race gas map on a switch, speed based boost control, oil pressure/coolant temp warning lights, AEM drives my tach (no bouncy tach on the 2step), etc.

Buschur can build some good junk, and put together some sick evo's. I give him props for that.

His character is flawed, his business ethics suck, and he doesn't exactly win the gold medal in the tuning arena.

Are you doing the switch with AEM? I saw keydriver is also incorporating a switching technique into his chips, found that interesting.

Yup, AEM controls it.

AEM has a seperate fuel/timing mapping area for nitrous, so you basically load your race gas fuel map and race gas timing map into the nitrous areas, and setup a low side input to switch to trigger it. Works good.

He's been tuning Haltech's and other standalones when Buschur was still tuning with knobs on the VPC's and GCC's. He doesn't just tune 4g63's, he is big into the turbo Honda and Supra world as well. The fact is that he tunes a wide variety of cars every day, is what makes him good.

I can get you in contact with him if need be, but most of your build is by Buschur, and if you are stepping it up a notch, then I assume Dave built the motor and such for you. I'm going to go out on a limb, and say Dave will back his work 100% as long as he tunes the car. So it wouldn't be in your best interest to have anyone but Dave touched the car.

AKA Dave would be pissed if Brad tuned the car, and Brad wouldn't want Dave seeing his maps if you had to take the car back to Buschur for repairs, etc.

Very understandable...the car runs strong as it is now with David tuning the car. But im getting numbers frm race gas tht it seemed Brad was getting with pump. I was dyno'd on Buschurs LOW mustang dyno at 468whp and 361 torque. The motor is now being completly rebuilt with tranny. Depending on wht turbo i go with...should clear 700's. I just like how Brad can add more features like u stated above on the standalone. Checked out his website...hes def tuned some sick cars. If I dont care for my tune..youll hear from me!

Brad is out of the NoVA area, DC/Maryland to be specific. His "home dyno" is www.ispracing.com in Beltsville, MD.

It's a shame he doesn't update his site more often. He's tuned so many sick cars in the last year or so it's crazy. He just tuned a 811whp S2000, and if you know anything about those cars, that is a CRAZY number.

Most tuners can make the numbers and get WOT tuning done up nicely, it's the cold starts, the driveability, idle, and everything else that matters the most.

Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone by thinking Brad was a local guy.

I'm from Youngstown though. ;)
