I think i'm done . . . UPDATE (good news content)

Yeah I've had enough, I think the DSM is going up for sale. I do not have the time or energy or money or resources to keep the thing running. Heres my story of the past month:
Daily driver dies out of nowhere, electrical problem, replace tons of stuff, come to the conclusion that the computer is bad, but not sure. Sooo I was driving my friend's truck for the past month, trying to get my wagon working again. But of course, I had my beloved eclipse sitting in the garage with a bad throwout bearing.
Soo onto the eclipse... Tear out the transmission, take off everything, put on the new turbo I had bought, put the whole motherfucker back together, starts up great, but then starts overheating, blowing cold air from the heater. Okay, no big, new thermostat, still overheating. Come to the conclusion that the water pump has gone bad. If you know anything about DSM's, the water pump is shoved behind the timing components, which means Ill need to completely take apart the front of the engine, replace the pump, and re-time everything.
On top of this I feel like a douche because I have both my broken cars at my friend's house, and I can tell he's getting a bit pissed, so I limp the eclipse to my house and now it's sitting here, and i'm not about to ask him if i can put it back in his garage for another week to fix this shit.
Oh oh oh! And my friend (who owns the truck i'm driving) is coming home March 10th for spring break, and he'll need his truck.
Oh and I'm broke. All my bills are due next week and i barely have the cash to cover that shit.
So in conclusion, daily is dead, dsm is fucked, I have nowhere to work on it, soon to be car-less, and i'm broke.
The dream is over, I think i'm gonna put up the eclipse on all the dsm classifieds, craigslist, forums, hope to get a few grand out of it, seeing as I have about 10 grand in. I basically just need a running car. I'm 20, living on my own with bills and a $8.50 an hour job with school full time, I can't keep up this crap.
FUCK.

Sorry to hear man
You sure the pump is going out? Every DSM i ever had with a bad pump literally BARFED coolant when the pump went out. Perhaps its a clogged heater core line or something with air trapped in it? Have you changed the pressure cap yet?
Saturns seem to die alot...kinda poor DD choice. Id sell that for whatever you can and get something that runs for under $400. There ARE cars out there, trust me.
Spring is only a few long weeks away. You can work outside then
If I had my own place, I'd offer a garage. But I won't put my mustang outside in the snow for even my brother

whoa whoa, think reasonably here man.
How did you bleed the coolant system? Did you jack the front of your car up with the rad cap off, then fill rad with coolant water mix with the heater on full blast! as you do this you will see bubbles coming out of the coolant system up through where the rad cap should be. You fill it up until it starts to want to boil out (once it reached operating temp). Cap that bitch then fill up to the fill line on the overflow.
If you didnt do it this way, there is most likely air bubbles in your coolant passages creating hotspots and causing the overheating.
If you need me to I'd gladly come over and help you out, you cant give up now!

Theres no pressure in the system, thermostat is new, and i looked in the thermo housing when the car is on, and the coolant isn't even moving. Do you know any procedure to check for sure if the pump is working? I'm about to bust out my friends mechanic stethoscope and listen to the pump.

Haha, understandable. Next year I think we're building a big garage, so I'll be set then. Now i'm just fucked.

You'll be the first to know if it comes down to it. I love the fucking car, but I can't keep up with it right now. If I had the tools and space, I'd happily tear into the thing every winter, but in my situation it sucks.

Idk, I've heard sometimes they can squeal or make a bearing noise. What you're describing is like the the impeller separated. If it was bearing, then it should be getting past it and into the weep holes. Can you turn it by hand and listen? Try to get a clunk or scrape...too little or too much bind?
The belt is still on there right?

Tonight i'm gonna manually turn it and see, and check the weep hole. If coolant is pouring out the weep hole, i'll know for sure it's the pump. But i would think that no pressure would equal bad pump anyway.

Haha, yes.

Haha I don't care, everyone's sick as hell right now. Thanks for the housing though, I ended up using it. Let me know how much you want for it, and I'll give you that ported 16g housing for decoration/use if you want to retap that thread.

Awesome! This weekend I'm going to flush the system a few times and try again. I'm praying for a clog or air pocket. If not, I'll be contacting you.

Ok, drained the system, put in the radiator flush shit...
-blowing warm air out heater
-no more engine steaming
-SYSTEM IS PRESSURIZING (took off cap, let out wonderful woosh of air)
but:
-radiator steaming like a bitch
Soooo Im guessing the water pump is ok, since it is pressurizing and there are no leaks except for the radiator.
So if my radiator is steaming like crazy, is it time for a new one?
Tom?

Awesome! If the radiator starts acting up again ill get a hold of you.
BUTTTT
Just took her around the block, did some pulls, no more steam, no nothing. Radiator flush is fucking badass! Im a bit low on coolant, because I just have the flush and water, so there were some temp spikes, but it seemed good. Im gonna run it for another hour or so, do another run around the block, drain it, fill it up with coolant, and hope for the best.

Sounds good man!
I'd drive it a bit and re-flush my rad IMO. It shouldn't be steaming (other than hot vs. cold outside) unless it's leaking somewhere. They seem to leak along the bottom sides, as thats were crap collects and theres corrosion.
If the rad goes, its usually REAL messy
I'd just rock it, reflush and keep an eye on my fluids.
Sounds like you've got it under control

get some "water wetter" redline makes it. It makes the coolent not make so many bubbles and helps fight air pockets.
