How could a "tubbed out muscle car" that runs 11.6 lose to a pos Neon that runs mid 15s with bolt ons and nitrous?

his neon does 11.3 at almost 126...

I am always down for challenges.......basic mods for now are AGP 60 trim at 25psi on pump gas dynoed 432whp.......next year will be AEM EMS revving to 6,800RPM from stock 6250rpm and will be on straight race gas tune at 27-28psi........probably somewhere near 460whp and over 500tq.

Car should be in the 10s with trap speeds somewhere around 128-129

I met that neon kid at quaker last year, i had my black 05 SRT out... he didnt have his car @ the track but was really happy telling everyone about it lol. My T/A did 11.30's on motor without a tune on 93 octane all day lol... I love 4CYLS! (that do that on high boost + everything else on race gas)

Obviously he's going to be on high boost LMAO! How many 4 bangers on all motor do low 11s all day? :nono: Get real man...V-8s obviously can do that b/c of the large displacement. But he can drive that baby home and get almost 30mpg

damn, you guys are goin a little far don't you think? haha I was just making the point its totally ridiculous to compare an all motor 4 cylinder to an all motor v-8. YOU HAVE 4 MORE CYLINDERS AND MORE DISPLACEMENT, its OBVIOUSLY going to be easier to make more power. sheesh

11.3 on pump gas couldnt have been high boost, if it runs 11.3 on pump gas ii would like to see that for sure... i would be impressed, but i dont think thats the case.

i have an srt4 for a dd, but dont consider it a race car or has the potential to be one for that matter. its a flipping neon and thats all... its cool but not cool enough to be serious about it, ur pretty much walking on the line of building a motor and just putting it in anything and be as cool as having a neon and being serious about it. props on making it fast, but thats where it ends.

v8 vs i4 is a stupid argument because v8>i4 no matter how you look at it, v8s are gonna make more power than an i4 with the same power adder and engine setup (or n/a v8 versus p/a i4 as the case is usually) i dunno if u guys know this or not, but alot of v8's are aluminum block/heads and outweigh by a couple lbs or if not the the same as an i4... im not arguing v8 against i4, the facts speak for themselves

i try to respect anyone who takes pride in what they do to their cars no matter what they drive as long as their not a complete douche bag (except mustangs which are all gay to me) im friends with domestic/rice rockets/fast imports/bikes/fast suvs, im not partial to domestic v8s just prefer them

....and for the gas mileage topic, my t/a doesnt do bad on gas what-so-ever, its @ 1800rpm@65mph in 6th gear(with 4.56gears)... who gets good gas mileage when their racing lol, so u guys get 30 mpg when ur drag racing lol... if not then why even bring it up

oh well, agree to disagree I guess. Overall though I6 > V8 in many aspects.

so an I6 is better than a V8? lets say you build both motors (2jzgte and an ls1) with 8:1 compression, same lift cam, came flowing heads and 30 psi on a Precision Garrett Turbo GT47 88mm turbo... what will make more power?
