Went to the dyno this weekend...

...and set some record numbers for a 35r like I was expecting. :)

This is going to only be a short post, I have been working on the car and trying to go to work for the last 10 days and I've slept less than 4 hours a night.

Towed the car to Maryland (ISPRacing.com to let Brad Brooks www.brookstuned.com t00n it up) at 3am Saturday morning, didn't get home til 4am Sunday morning. No sleep, didn't even sit down while @ the dyno for 12 hours.

I will post up the rest of the good stuff later, but for now here it is..

600whp/392wtq on 23.5psi boost and PUMP GAS.

720whp/486wtq on 33psi falling to 31psi of boost, VP Q16.

Torque is a little lower than it should be, due to the boost being low. We had some boost controller issues on the pump gas runs that we didn't figure out until the race gas tune, but if we could have gotten the boost to go higher, we could have made 630whp on pump gas or so. As it stands now, there's no boost control being enabled, it starts at 21psi and creeps to 23.5psi.

On race gas, that's all the car would make boost wise. I could have thrown more WG spring at the car, but then it would have made even more boost on pump gas. As it stood, we made the record numbers, car was safe, and I kept getting more scared each pull it was going to blow up, so we decided to call it a day.

8 pulls in all, 4 pulls on pump, 4 pulls on race gas.

4 pulls on pump gas went like this:

5 minutes of tuning idle and making some fuel map changes = 410whp
2nd pull = 540whp
3rd pull = 580whp
4th pull = 600whp

We made a few more pulls on pump to try and get the boost figured out, but each pull it kept making the same numbers (hot lapping the car on the dyno) so we put the good gas in.

Race gas
1st pull = 640whp (no changes but dumping in the race gas)
2nd pull = 690whp (got the boost up 3lbs)
3rd pull = 707whp
4th pul = 720whp

GREAT FUCKING DAY. Car didn't push any coolant, didn't leak, didn't blow any IC pipes, all we did was pull and check plugs each pull.

You can tell by the dyno graph the car just flat out FLOWS. Higher we rev it, the more power it makes.

I will make the proper post later on tonight with the videos and alot more information, but I figured you locals would want to hear the news first. ;)

Jesus Christ!!!!

Infucking SANE numbers through the 35r.... What hotside is your HTA? Also your compression ratio to be able to push 23 lbs on PUMP?!! w/o pre-det? Dear lord man.

Fastest car on here ladies and gents... wow. Very impressive hats off to those numbers!!! Cant wait to see your trap! lmao....

It's a NON-HTA 35r. HTA wheel is worth 50hp+, go punch that in the calculators. :)

.82 t3/vband exhaust housing.

Car pulled on a 860whp GT42 Supra after the dyno. And we all know what that power in a Supra traps. :)

Comp ratio is 9:1, John Shepherd built the motor over 4 years ago Ross pistons and Crower rods. It still has baby cams (HKS 272's), ancient cast intake manifold, stock cam gears. We could have went much higher on the boost and pump gas, car has 4degree of timing at Peak Tq creeping to 11 up top.

The big hp pump gas evo's are boosting between 28-32psi on pump gas to do similar numbers.

!!!.... dood you I don't understand how you got some ridiculously CRAZY numbers through that turbo..... That is just nasty... I'm curious to see the numbers on another dyno for comparisons. Not calling B.S. or anything but I've never seen numbers that high on the 35r!

Definitely a HUGE congrats!

Tym Switzer made 627whp on the same turbo in an EVO 2 weeks ago on pump gas.

A Buschur built EVO did 747whp on race gas in an HTA-35r.

Both the above numbers were on dynojets. Dynojets are the only dynos that can't be "skewed"

Keep in mind, a "newer" intake manifold, and a big set of cams will give me quite a bit more power. Am I going to do it? No. The cost vs power/fun level right now does not make sense to dump any more money into the car.

BTW, car went 103mph in the 1/8th yesterday first pass off the trailer and first pass using the twin disk and short shifting heavily. On a 2.0 60'. Car usually picks up 36-38mph in the 2nd half of the track. :D It blew the muffler clean off the car after the 1/8th mile on this pass, haha.

2nd pass I gave it hell, went 1.70 in the 60' (which for my nearly full weight FWD on baby slicks, is DAMN fast), and was en route to a 10-second pass but the twin disk allows me to shift the car so hard and fast that when I hit 3rd gear it went in so easily I thought I killed a shift fork. I re-shifted twice to confirm no breakage and just coasted to an 11.5.

OH yeah, looking at your speeds on the graph, those 3rd gear pulls? or 4th? or are your guy's trannies shorter ratios?

3rd gear pulls. FWD have much longer ratios than AWD DSM's which makes them suck for 1/4 mile stuff. I could put an AWD trans in it (weld the center diff) but then it would be terrible on the street with the much shorter gears.

Pump gas we were revving the car to right after 8k.

Race gas we were revving the car right after 8500.

As you can see from the graph, the car wants to be revved higher.

Car should be able to go to 9500. I hit 9k yesterday at the track without any problems.

Here's a little teaser video of the 3 back to back pump gas pulls we did to make sure it was consistent and safe...

Please don't link this out anywhere, the final video will come later. :)

at least killas car has potential, is there any use for 720 hp with fwd?
...were you on pump gas or race gas when you were running high 11s/low12s at quaker a couple sundays ago?

You sure do like to spread bullshit don't you?

Since I got home from the dyno Sunday morning at 3-4am, and the car was still on the trailer, I decided to make two easy passes at Quaker to make sure the tune was spot on from the dyno to the track/street.

Car ran 11.5 @ 132 off the trailer, first time ever launching or shifting hard with the twin disk. First pass in about 2 years in the car actually. First pass was a 2.0 60' as I didn't know where to dial the 2step in at, car went 103mph in the 1/8th (car should pick up about 38mph on the top half) short shifting the car. Short shifting in this case meant shifting out of 3rd gear at 8200, causing the rpms to drop to 4950 in 4th, where the car makes no power, essentially coasting the last 300'.

2nd pass I got the 2step dialed in, cut a 1.70 60' (which is damn good for a 2900-3000lb fwd on 24.5x8.5x15 baby slicks), but the twin disk allowed me to rape 3rd gear so hard I thought I broke the tranny. Re-shifted in and out of 3rd twice to confirm no breakage, and revved out 3rd gear. 11.5 @ 128.

Surprisingly how the only other two street cars there faster than me were other DSM's huh?

I'd consider two back to back 11.50's with problems a pretty good shake down day, car would have went 10's on the 2nd pass for sure if not for the 3rd gear trickery.

Oh ya, my car makes so much horsepower the muffler can't even keep up.

Blew the muffler clean off the car around the 1/8th mile on the first pass.

Gary 132mph trap > 120 mph trap. His car is faster than yours by a very good deal, its just not quicker... yet

your quoting my last years pass when i wasn't on a power adder and when my computer was not tuned  (it doesn't matter if you trap higher, winning is winning)

DSMu4ia wrote:car would have went 10's on the 2nd pass for sure if not for the 3rd gear trickery.

but you didn't, you ran an 11.5

dude, your car has so much power you blew the welds off the muffler... im suprised with the gt35r you didn't blow the welds off the intake
