That was almost funny 6 years ago when Fast and the Furious was released and all of the super modified ricers were losing to stock f-bodys. That would be thier battle cry after they've got their doors blown off. Somewhere in between "yeah, but I only have 4 cylinders" and "my car's not set up for drag racing". It's good to see not much has changed in the world of "import tuning" Image

actually a ton has changed and you should know this. Import tuning has been around since the birth of imports, just not in the U.S. since we never get the "good" versions.

Now your just stereotyping. I'm pretty sure we are all car guys here and not ricers, so no need for that.

And because I own a Trans Am and a Grand National, it's assumed I have a mullet, but that's not stereo-typing?

Didn't know you didn't have one? Don't think I've seen you in a long time. :P

Be nice children.

Pretty sure Keith was trapping right around 100mph, but with his shit 3.0 60 fts he will never get a "good" time. I really wanted him to just let me drive it that one day.

I'm not sure if he actually got a high 14 yet or not lol. It was all like 15.05-15.3 when I was watching. That was 2 years ago though.

His gear ratios are stupid short as well, 1st runs to like 20.... Mac Truckin it. Not that thats any excuse he did need some stickier tires, if he was 5 lug I was gonna let him try my DR's...

True... the fastest I have gone is a 14.9@ 101 mph. All my 60' are well over 2.5 seconds due to my tires. I never had anything other than cheap all season kuhmos on the car when I raced. I really only went for fun. This year however I plan on getting serious a and try to make some fast passes. I know my car may not be insanely fast Mr. Tras am faggot, which is what I will now be referring to you as, but I am happy with the performance it has and the originality of not owning the same car as thousands of other hard ass wannabes. Stop shitting on peoples threads and go spend some quality time with your boyfriend.

Agreed. Just because its FWD and an I4 doesn't mean you need to hate. Its clean and is quick as well as different.

trapping right over 100 should be good for atleast mid 13's even in a turbo car, u just need some real treads so u can launch it

Yeah thats pretty much where I am, I'm able to run down mid 13 sec cars on the street, its just the launch that has haunted me. Since my last time at the track I have upgraded my clutch (was stock) and flywheel. I'm dropping in a built engine that can handle close to 500whp, though I will likely be around 380whp when I get it running in the car. This setup will be maxing out my stock ECU, so the next big jump will be a stand alone unit. With a good set of tires, mid to very low 12's should be within my sights, nevermind just a really fun street car! :D

Would a full slick be a much better idea than a drag radial??? I havent started looking just yet, but I am worried the prices for slicks will be really high, or if there will be one that would fit.

They will fit, Just get some 15" steelies and mount um up. Personally I like DR's just because it keeps the car "street legal". I see people running some very nice times on BFG's not to mention they were AMAZING when I got caught in the rain.

They are about 140-150 a piece. Lowered my mph by about 2-3, but dropped my 60ft .2-.3 so thats another .4-.6 in the 1/4. You wont need a full slick to cut better 60's. You need to practice with them tho, and quick slipping the clutch.. Good investment if you go to the track regularly.

Would you still love gloating about your T/A so much if everyone in America owned one? His car is clean, its not riced out, and it has a turbo. I don't care what it runs, it has potential and its still a nice car. Quarter mile times aren't everything, especially when anyone can make a car go fast.

If he was running a huge aluminum wing and was N/T, I would agree 100% with you on this one, but in reality its a nice car with a turbo.

I'm not gloating about my T/A at all, he's just bashing me, so I'm defending myself. And have you been in Boardman at all for the past 5 years? Just about everyone in America does own one. I was the first one out there to own one, everyone else came after, including Gary. It doesn't bother me, I think everyone should experience it at least once. It should be man-law.

All i said negative about his car before he started calling me "Trans Am faggot" was that it was a waste of time to put a turbo on a car and for it to run the same as it did without it. I'm not all about 1/4 mile, but if I were to waste the time and expense, I'd do it with a car of a higher caliber. If you read his first post, he claims to be seeing "all of you" in his rear view mirror this summer, so I called his bluff and now he just looks like an even bigger douche-bag by talking shit with a 15 second car.

Its technically not a 15 second car, its a 13 second car with a 15 second driver, his trap speeds obviously display that.

Only reason he was defending himself was because someone he doesn't know "you" is asking him where his serious car is? So that is what initiated his retaliation. You said it knowing you were going to piss him off, don't even try to pretend otherwise.

When I was at quaker with Keith when I first met him he had plenty of people checking his car out, simply because there are very few turboed spec-b's of his year.

Is it a car I'd personally pick? no its not. But is clean, quick and he enjoys it. Thats all that matters to me. So just drop it.

I just don't like trash talking geeks with slow girl cars. Think what you want to think of me, your opinion doesn't matter. And as far as being the fastest car on here, I'm probably in the top 5 out of the 69 registered users on here, if not the top 3.
