um brett... the forged bottom end alone is 2k, the heads were probably 1400+... then u have the cam, tb, fuel pump, regulators, tune, and other misc shit i won't take the time to list. Not to mention he's probably on the brink of destroying that trans and possibly the rear end.

5k doesn't really get u much bud lol... though i don't really expect u to understand how expensive it is to build a car as u haven't really modded yours yet.

lol yea... its buku expensive... thats why im' doing the forged bottom end..and lloyd elliots le package (heads and cam) for roughly 1200.... figure 1900 botom end... 2-300 for the machining... pay someone 500 to put it all together since i don't have the tools, the fuel n stuff should be cheap compared to the rest.... hopefully this summer my 5k will get the job done. as for the trans holding... i've heard that the auto 4l60e has gone down into the low 12's high 11's... and the rear end 10 bolt i havea buddy whose got a cam runs 12.5...runs a 100 shot n ran high 11's on his stock rear no problem...done it plenty of times. so im'a build the motor..and get my suspension done then just not launch hard so i can enjoy it till i get enough money to launch hard

Depending on the Geo and if engine swaps are allowed. There were a lot of brands involved in Geo so you have a lot to choose from.

i dont know what all he has done. and i got that price from a comment that jake left me on myspace. i dont really talk to matt. but thanks for another random bash. but if anything that just makes it worse he spent more money and only runs high 12s. granted he could bolt on :gotnos: now and not worry about it but i think he should have waited until his car NEEDED the forged bottem end before he spent the money on it. i mean i garentee he has his reasons for doing it that way. he know his shit and he has been racing sence he was like 8 doing jr. dragster shit and building motors with his dad sence day 1 i'm just saying i would have gone a diffrent route. as of right now he has alot of useless mods. :shithappens:

brett ,matts 5k was spent well trust me 12.7 untuned seems pretty good seeing as the stuff he had to get and do to his motor he wants an N/A car no s/c or turbo he wasnt trying to sell it but if someone gave hime enought money he would get rid of it to car is rediculous trust me he has some m/t for it and he has something up his sleeve for the up coming season

he was trying to sell it. he tried to sell it to me for 5k. it was either last year or the year before. but it doesnt matter. anyway that is my point. you said he wanted a n/a car. well i just want to go fast and forced induction is a good way to get their. like i said i would have gone a diffrent direction. never said the car wasnt nice i like it.

LT1's cost to much to mod. Thats why i didnt buy one. Screw optispark and water pumps that cost over $150, Dont get me wrong i like the looks and interior in 4th gens, LS1's seem to run pretty good with the t56 behind them, but still kinda pricey. Brett save ur money and buy a ls1. Still race the T/A but go LS1 if your going crazy. i know ur buddy richard simmons will be bad but o well .Or..... U could always buy a third gen :D . O wait u dont like to go fast. Thats right. LOL, Ur not cool enough any way for a third gen 8) . LOL

lol plain and simple... w/ heads and a cam u can get into the low 12's... add a shot of nitrous and your in the 11's... i hate ppl who say they can't go fast.... no one really knows. ya but building what engine the proper way isnt expensive?

I didnt say they couldnt go fast, just heads are kind of expensive for LT1's and roller cams are pretty expensive to. 12's is pretty quick for a street car. Not crazy but still fast. Old school SBC's are the cheapest engine to build. The aftermarket parts they make are endless. But still LT1's can go fast for some what cheap compared to other cars but the maintence is just to much. Optispark and waterpumps are the killers. But I guess odds are you will only have to change them once so its just whatever u like. I chose a third gen because I like carbs and I dont have to get it tuned anywhere I can do it all at home and its free. Plus if I want to add a power adder (BOOST) its pretty easy to put a blower on it. Centrifical style supercharger are a little tricky and turbos on carburated cars....well.... SCREW THAT! Its near imposible to tune for that with a carb. But it is posible. i say just build ur engine up and u wont need a power adder. And well im was never a big fan or Nitrous but i guess it works.

the only reason i wanted nitrious or something to give that little kick is for when i take it to the track. whats the point in having a forged bottom end if i'm already running low 12's high 11's on motor if i can't spray n knock it down some? idk... lloyd elliot does custom kits, so that means he custom grindes cams n ports heads to match, so for 1500 bucks u get your heads back ported and assembled, and a cam to boot.... where as with most kits u get a cam n lifter kit for 600 or 700... and a set of good flowing heads for around 1800 bucks. the lloyd elliot route is the way i'm gunna go. just want a fast street car and a decently fast track car....
