and as for me sliding the bird...... the first two i tried to use the E-brake just to find out it didnt work. and i slid just fine the other two. i hit it on my second try. i turned the wheel to soon on t=the first attempt.

thats a total LIE!!! this just goes to show that brett cant tell the truth to save his life. i was there, tom was there. we can both tell you that it took him at least 5 tries to slide that car into those speakers, and when he finally did it was pathetic. it was a rwd car on FOUR DONUTS in DIRT, and he couldnt slide it around for shit. isnt it on video? i think we stopped filming because it was taking forever...

more proof brett cant drive, like we needed any of that

my second try not using the e-brake. yeah i tried it a couple times trying to use the e- brake. i said that. 2+2= :?: come on.... you can do it.

Happened 4 weekends ago. Keep in mind car had about 115k on it at ~320bhp levels. Pushed a bit too hard at my buddies flat track. Started it the next day car had some piston slap. Turns out the #2 cylinder was the issue others showed signs of wear as well after pulling. Bottom end now has stock compression/bore weiscos, ACL bearings, fresh gaskets, bolts, new exedy clutch... ect ect.

Technically didn't blow it up..., I actually put about 200 miles on it fucked up (thought it was a failed timing tensioner till I dug deeper), if it wasn't for the noise I wouldn't have really noticed anything different other than loosing about 3-4mpg per tank.

Got about 250 miles on the fresh one now, car feels pretty great, semi built motors a little bit noiser than stock, especially cold, but seems to be a common issue with flat 4's and subies after building just their nature. Pulls pretty good, boost still at 14 psi... maybe I should turn it up now and re-tune? hmm.

Lesson learned here, don't get drunk and drive my car.

Tom how did you hear? lol Someone from the Girard area?

About 1.9-2 grand out of the 240 fund to fix it. That's doing it ALL myself, minus the bottom end assembly, honing, and polishing of crank. Would have been 160 bucks cheaper if I hadn't fucked up my 10k mile new tensioner. If you EVER reuse one on a WRX they need to be pressed in SLOWLY over a 3 minute period. I pressed mine in about a 2 second period and fucked the piston. Read after doing so and said DOH!.

As for pushing the 2.0 liter.. meh its a pretty weak motor stock IMO, the 2.5 is another story. Comparing the trashing I gave my WRX to what I did BPU with my RB, the RB could take it all day and not quit. I was considering a 2.5 swap but for this being my DD it wasn't worth it to me. Would have cost about another grand to do it right, and i'll loose about 2-4mpg on it. Which = about ~ $100 a month with the amount I drive.

Id rather have a ppg geared WRX trans than a 6 speed, less shifting for the same if not lesser of a price. I've seen a few PPG wrx boxes used on nasioc for like 2500... not bad. It also saves you from needing the new rear end ratio.

Yeah I love the thing. It's an 02. Smooth as fuck, I catch myself doing 60 everywhere hah. It's pretty bad on gas though, although I am not light on the pedal by any means. Plus its the XLT, 3rd row seat, all the works, so it's like the heaviest model.

It's supposed to get 21mpg on the highway though, if I baby it hah. Next tank I need to see exactly what she gets. I stopped keeping track though, I don't even think about it anymore.

Not to mention they tried to say on here how they don't ever break or ruin anything, and going in the woods is perfectly fine for a daily driver....

Except for the story they told me and Tom when we went to hillsville about how they turned every single dummy light possible on in the dash of someones mom's trailblazer, trying to convince me to take mine in the woods.
