I know Flynn's Tire does good work, me and my girl got our cars done there and gave us a good price. I'm not sure if there is any around your area, but I figured I would give you a heads up on it.

I have my car aligned EVERY spring.

I deal with one guy & one guy only that works at sears in niles.

He's been there for years and understands how serious i am with my car, he's done my alignment every year for the last 3 years and i trust him to load my car onto the rack ( i remind him each year that my clutch is a little intense, so that he's ready for it's harsh engagement). They let me drive the car into the shop and observe the entire process while i'm there.

They are required to test drive the car after the alignment (he treats the car right & does not enter boost and actually doesn't drive the car out of my sight, he stays in the mall parking lot which is not their normal route).

I do all of my own work and i don't let anyone touch that thing, I don't have my own alignment rack so i'm forced to have this one thing done and thats the only place i will go because of past experience with him.

If the guy that has done it in the past isn't there the day i go. I get his schedule and come back when he is there.

I also take my front bumper off when i go.

Contact information?

How are they with negative camber? Can they even keep it? I basically need negative camber up front in order not to rub on my fenders. My rear is what the problem is.

I can't speak for this specific shop but as long as you have camber adjustment they can set it to whatever you tell them to, they'll recommend that you don't but they'll do it. Go out in the shop with them and oversee what they're doing, you're paying for it so go out and tell them what to do.

Sears does my stuff too. They respect the fact i'm really anal about the car, they let me drive the car onto the rack and stand back there while they do everything. And yes they can do camber cory, i took it there when i had the camber plates and bolts installed, they tweaked everything the way i wanted it and showed me all the readouts

highly reccomended

Ingles makes bolts, I used them for mine, one camber bolt in the bottom and the OEM one in the top I corrected the negative camber on my 2.5" drop in the front with that set up

This is more of a toe in or out issue for me. I can change camber by moving my coil overs.

I have all of my cars done at NTB in Boardman, OH - However there are only a select few certain people I would recomend do specialty cars, not just one of the random mechanics they go through. They set my 240sx with all of the after market suspension pieces on it, and put it exactly at the specs I wanted, you can stand right next to them while they do it - they can even give you a print out what \the specs the machine set it to.

John Scarbino is the man to talk to there, he will stand behind any of the work the guys in the back do. I can probably get you a good discount if you are interested.

I corner weighted my car myself and went to Firestone in Liberty.

I told them what specs I wanted, and that I needed to see them on the readout.

Also recommend sitting in your car when they do the alignment. Same with corner weighting.

Get a good alignment spec sheet for what you want to do with the car, I've seen cars pick up 3-4mph from a good alignment to a GREAT one. :)

Spec sheet? Where do you obtain one of those? I've NEVER gotten any of my cars aligned in the 4 years I've been driving.

Ha that is silly! I get mine done every 3000 or so miles when I do my oil. They'll give you a readout with all the specs.

thank you for that.

I know Tony recommended Sears, whom I talked to and the guy didn't make me feel all to confident about their ability to setup a lowered car. He told me "what ever the factory specs on the car are" is what they go by... I cant see it being anywhere close to factory specs...

I might end up heading to NTB since they have setup Aarons 240 and STI very well, however ACV is MIA.... I'll give them a call and see what they say.

thats like going to best buy and asking the cashier about a TV

I had taken my car to NTB before as well, i think ACV was there getting its aligned after the new brakes and wheels. They let me sit back there and gave me a readout. not sure who's reputable there though, the guy who did acvs did mine

I get my stuff done at Ram Tuff in Struthers on Youngstown-Poland Rd. The owner [Mark] works on performance cars all the time [mostly muscle and classic, but he gets a lot of imports too. A rich doctor in Poland takes his classic Ferrari's to him, so he must be doing something right]. Just tell him you are setting up your alignment for racing.

Cory,

By spec sheet I mean what some of the guys on the forums recommend. I'm sure you can make a post and get some decent specs. Only thing that will really wear out tires fast is extreme toe out.

You can find generic tire alignment spec sheet online like what was posted above and write down what settings you want.

There are things like daily driver ailgnments, road race alignments, drag race alignments, etc.

Curt Brown's alignment specs are the holy grail in the DSM community, it's funny watching a car go from sliding all over the track in AWD form, to tracking perfect and gaining 3-4mph.

Make sure you sit in the seat when they do the alignment (not sure if I said that in the first post).
