another classic lack of knowledge statement. Cubic inches > all there is no substitute.

I'd like to see someone put a turbo 502 motor in something that isnt a drag car for a change; make it streetable... sorry, but your 'import' just cant compete with that :(

Props to the supras guys in the past few years though, they've really been pushing the envelope in the street car department. Seems like all domestic guys care about is making drag cars

lol i want a decent all around car.... which is why i'm gunna settle for low 12 second car high 11's... screw it. the fastest car ever doesnt matter anymore like i thought it used to. i want to enjoy my car. not have to worry about whose car is faster because there is ALWAYS someone whose going to have something better eventually... just to the point where u can't keep up so make it now, and make it how u want to.

exactly. Thats why i love ppl who are all 'hardcore' about one specific type of car and think their make/model is superior to everything else. There will ALWAYS be someone faster, and its almost guaranteed to be one of those cars u hate

12 - 11 sec range is definitely respectable. Not everyone can afford to throw 10-20k at a car, its an expensive hobby. Do what u can with what uve got. All that matters is that at the end of the day u enjoy it.

No one likes a trailor queen anyway

how is that a lack of knowledge?? i was saying the comment towards whoever that guy is, by ur post i can see you respect all diff cars but for people like him their one domensional on what cars they like.

what your gunna drop a 502 in a non drag car? then its sorta just pointless to go big cuz if your not gunna use it then wtf. yea racings not every1s thing but just leave the stock motor in it, yea ok come back with the some people just want that motor in the car blah blah blah yea i went threw that stage with the vette , said man imma never drag that car imma drop a 454 in it and be happy, yea that didnt happen there wasnt a point to have that motor in it. so it got blowned and now its a drag car.

and for the trailor queen thing yea if your drop a 502 in a older car it might be streetable with 46334743hp but how often are you going to drive it 4 real? you drive it to track but if u had a trialore youd rolly trailor it in..lol

i love trailor queens, thats what my 78 vette is and thats what my 240zs gunna be but then again it dont have a title...yet

i should have clarified. By drag car i mean tube chassis/fiberglass panels/tubbed out.... things making the car no longer street legal. What would be the point in building it if u don't race it? lol

Sure its easy to make a car go fast when u can strip the shit out of it and put 30"x15"+ tires underneath it... thats not a challenge. Much like the supra guys you see today who have just broke into the 7s with a street legal 6spd car, THAT is a car. Its things like that i'd rather see the domestic boys focusing on

i mean i want to see tuning companies building cars like that. There is some really great platforms out there for domestics, just that no ones putting in the work! I just wanna see more street cars.

Just responding to your domestics vs imports comment. You're taking what i say a bit out of context.

na man im cool, id ove for people to make more cars like that to

as 4 my comment imports vs domestic i never put import vs domestic , you did

i was jsut saying that towards that guy and whoever else that is just all about american cars i was making a joke that their getting scared becasue more n more imports r coming around that arent a joke.

i own both domestic and imports so im up for anything but i like imports more but thats me but im into anything.

the thing with domestic cars tho is like what cars are actually affordable for tuner kids of a younger generation that dont want a gas hog or a v8 theres the cobalt ss, neon srt4 and ??? all the good domestics are expensive (the ones with v8s)

although i head the new ss beat the evo and the sti at sme track that a magazine tested? way lighter though but thats interestig

by any means dont think im argueing with you cuz i aint if i was ud know haha thats childish

i agree with brian i want to make my laser get into the low 12`s and i will be so happy with thati wouldnt care if anyone beat me because no matter what car or how bad my shit got beat by atleast i ran my car and had a blast doing it! i race for fun not for money or respect from older people muscle guys ricers or anyone for that matter i do it because i love the adrenaline and i love cars i have since i was probably 10 yrs old. my favorite is a 1996 comaro z28 but i love the gas mileage and imports just the same my laser is not my favorite car was the point lol but i still love it.. i hope you guys dont see me as some asshat who feels imports>domestic because im not i love brians mustang garys t/a toms mustang those cars are sick i know my fair share about cars but i still have my fair share to learn which is my main purpose on these forums

Yawn.. There are Grand Prix GTP's in the 7s.. Supras have been overhyped since the first Fast and the Furious was released almost 8 years ago..

obrien72 wrote:wow thats the 1st time i ever heard any1 say supprt your country with buying domestic?? haha you own a 80s camaro, thats more like support the local trailor park...

Wow, that's really cool and really original you said that about 80's Camaros. But I definetaly agree with the person who said that about supporting domestic car companies.

obrien72 wrote:but forreal if your into cars your into cars doesnt matter what kind, its a lifestyle and its getting 2 a point where all the ricers r disappearing and imports (built imports) r taking over and "american Muscle" is getting reallll scared haha

Not really. You're into what you're into. There are import people who wouldn't be caught dead in a new Z06 and there are domestic (preferably GM) people like me who would sell a 1200hp Supra within 5 minutes of someone giving it to me. The only thing I agree with you on is the fact that most of the 19 second fart canned, body kitted Hondas are dissappearing and they are being replaced with modified EVO's, STi's and the like. As far as "American Muscle" owners being scared of them, well... I'm sure as hell not one of them!

Cute.

crx ef 88 wrote:so Rick, what kind of power/boost can a grand national handle with stock internals? ive kind of always wanted one.

Stock boost on an '86-'87 T-Type/GN is 12psi. GNX's had 14 I believe.. They can handle around 20psi on a stock bottom end. They all respond VERY well to minor bolt ons..

Well the only good late model V8 cars are or were built by GM, IMO. A kid that's in my club just recently sold his white 6spd '98 WS6 for $6k.. I've seen '04 GTO's going for $8k all over ebay and autotrader.com. As far as gas mileage is concerned, just about any LS powewred vehicle will get high 20s-low 30s mpg on the highway if you drive right.

Yeah and what do u drive? POS rusty import?? Yeah OK Put a turbo on any V8 and see how it runs. The only chance imports got is if they have a turbo. But as I said before thats not a problem for me. Brett dont tell any one what im talking about. :nono:

My car probaly got half the miles ur does and at least my car doesnt sound like a weed eater. Last timeI checked most domestics are faster than imports stock. HHHhmmm stock honda W/vtec 160 Hp Stock LS1 325HP. Well yeah if u put 12K in an imports it better be fast. In the end its not what you got. Its how much you got.

atleast its coming together brett and i tried stopping then from the clutter but jason has a problem with listening i guess.. and jason no one gives a FLYING FUCK if you think domestic>import or the other way around the point is people put their hard earned money and time into their car which makes it their pride and joy and at the end of the day weather it has 8cyl or 4 the person driving it is happy and dont need someone shit talking their stuff or compensating for something  with 4 more cyl and thats not directed at guys with v8s because alot of them are cool i find its mostly the HARDCORE GM guys no offense to everyone with a gm. so pull the dick out of your ass jason and enjoy what other people have cause when your show respect you get it.... and 13`s for an import is not considered fast imports have come A LONG way since you have been sheltered in your v8 cave man... and if you think about it give a honda 345hp stock and see what they run and give an f-body 160 and then see what that runs you have to think hp to weight ratio

That car Brian was talking about is rocking a factory 6 speed, stock rear end, and is non-tubed 3000lbs. It actually holds the world 6 speed world record my ignorant one for 1/4 @7.91 and standing mile 242mph for ANY 6 speed car. The Titan auto supra is running the 10.5 class and 4.1's in the 1/8th. That statement clearly shows your strong dislike for anything that deserves respect that isnt GM.

Installs comming along Brett, looks like your almost home.
