Post up a good pic of the plugs too, if you still have them. I don't know if the bad tune could have caused this much damage though. Maybe it was just time for that head to go...

Single head. And did you see the valves all cracked and in pieces?

destruction such as that looks like the motor jumped time on a zero clearance head.

That was my first guess too, but he said the timing belt was solid, i'm not sure if he checked the timing before he pulled the head, but I advised him to.

Just because it was solid doesn't mean it didn't jump time..... if it wasn't tensioned properly at least with my motor is very easy to jump time. before he pulled the head he should have checked the timing marks. I'd put money on it that was the cause.

Ha well i just got inside from working on it in this lovely 40 degree weather.. outside! hah but yeah i forgot the mention the timing was off 1 tooth which would make sense to the broken valves... but on the other hand this is what doesnt make sense..

i drove it last saturday after i fixed an oil leak and it was running fine, no knocks or weird behavior at all.. i got home after about 10 miles of driving and parked it still everything fine. Went outside about 10min later and it wouldnt start. thought my battery was dead so tried to jump it and nothing. the motor wouldnt rotate by hand or nothing. thats when i knew something was up, But the thing that stumps me is why didnt it break down when i was driving, not after i parked it? Weiirrrd.

Well in that case the police are obviously trying to sabotage your car by fucking with the timing when it is in the driveway!

1 tooth wouldn't do that, thats for sure. 1 tooth and it would just run a little weird.

As far as what? every exhaust side valve was gone. the bottom side of the head was chewed up from the valves hitting it and one of the rocker arms was snapped in half..
