if your crank pulley is just that "a crankn pulley" then no
If your crank pulley also serves as a harmonic balancer then yes it will destory your main bearings & depending on the design of the motor, it can also take out your oil pump, add end play to your crankshaft which would have a negitive effect on clutch components and then on down the line to drivetrain components. Obviously you would notice a main bearing failure before anything else got broke, usually just results in blown motor!
